I saw the trailers and yes, tons of cgi.

My 6 target preorders come out to $18 each. Through Amazon right now it would be $28.00 each.

Netflix has the trailer for Iron Fist under the hdr search function, but the trailer itself isn't hdr, but the show likely will be when it releases.

Also, regarding Chefs Table, the 1st 2 seasons are SDR, only the newly added 3rd season is HDR. And like the other hdr Documentary style hdr programs, looks great.

I just watched "The Great Wall" (starring Matt Damon) at the theater tonight (in 3D).

I actually really enjoyed the movie!

I think this movie is going to look awesome on HDR UHD Blu-ray! (CGI or not) Lots of great colors, especially the bright blue and bright red armor, and lots of "shiny things" that will really stand out in HDR... not to mention lots of fire and explosions.

That would just make zero sense to have another Sony device for the Ultra streaming app. Of course it also makes no sense that the PS4 Pro doesn't have access to the Ultra app either.

A couple movies to keep an eye on that was studio announced but doesnt have any type of preorder up yet is Transformers 5 (Arri Alexa 65 baby), and also "Ghost in the Shell" (Arri Alexa 65 baby! oh and Scarlet Johansson)

Both of these movies will likely be very good on 4k BD and likely reference quality.

Ghost in the Shell looks epic! ...Im a little worried that so many upcoming releases are not getting a 4k disc: Live By Night( I really hope this is wrong)/A Monster Calls/Jackie/Manchester By The Sea(prob free on amazon soon, but in HDR?) and Nocturnal Animals, not to mention all the Disney stuff still(Doctor Strange, Moana would look amazing!)...oh well, I guess its just the bigger hits for now

And it makes no sense that the PS4 Pro can't play 4K UHD Blu-Rays. Sony's decision to support Blu-Rays in the PS3 was probably the single key thing that cemented the viability of the format. If their decision to not support 4K UHD Blu-Rays in the PS4 Pro turns out to harm the format - we NEED a PHYSICAL medium with extremely high capacity and bit-rates - I'll never buy another Sony product in my life.

I already hate what Michael Bay has done so won't be watching Transformers 5, but Ghost in the Shell definitely as I'm a huge fan of it.

Abstract looks great, especially episode 1 and 2 and the one about the Nike designer (Hatfield).

Plot and personality wise I found the interior designer, the photographer, and the illustrator the most interesting.

The Tinker Hatfield and Ralph Gilles (chrysler design) episodes nearly made me barf with the circle-jerky corp-speak bs.

I guess I learned why car design is often so bad, for 45 minutes we follow a group too afraid to question their boss bring from concept to production another forgettable "futuresque" looking car. Good luck to Chrysler if they think that thing will earn them success...

I may be in the minority but I believe all titles don't need HDR and regular Blu-rays still look great. I read reviews/feedback before I buy and sometimes choose the standard Blu. I care more about Atmos.

I'm pretty sure Disney is banking on Dolby Vision and is simply waiting on sufficient DV saturation in TVs and players. My wife is a huge Disney fan and we often attend premieres at the El Capitan Disney Theater which features Dolby Vision & Atmos. We already have our tickets for Beauty and the Beast.

That's why I called 2 different departments and knowing what Sony has been doing recently I tend to believe the customer service reps. Sony is keeping the Ultra app very close to the vest for some reason which is probably making sales pretty stagnant. The only app they mentioned it having was Netflix and that is the only app I could see on any of their product announcements, specifications, etc.

So do you believe Netflix will be the only ap?

I did read that the Ultra app was only going to be supported on the X1000.

Ha, I want all the HDR! I agree, not everything needs uhd treatment, but when were getting Bad Santa 2 in 4k and not actual good movies, its annoying...As far as reviews, Arrival got overall great reviews. Most people on blu-ray.com would say get it, its a great disc. I think its a botched disc. Its hilarious that anyone would complain about Oblivion being slightly less sharp with amazing HDR, and think this dark mess is a great disc. Picture was WAY too dim on my ks8500 and my friends x930d...I saved him $24.99! So anyway, feedback and reviews are not an exact science

That sounds like an awesome theater to have near by. My only experience was bad in a Dobly Vision theater...only the center was in focus and they wouldn't fix it...so thats why i need more uhd discs at home!!

Maybe, the Philips UHD player only has Netflix and Youtube? Maybe it's the UBP-X1000ES that the customer service rep was referring to when he said in the next quarter, the device would support the Sony Ultra app?

Review of Bad Santa 2 4k SDR.

Appears to be a best buy exclusive and it's an amazon production. The good news is this movie was filmed with Arri Alexa and was finished in 4K, so it's very sharp and clean, but again, no HDR.

I have Enders Game on BR and Vudu, but don't see the UHD notice.
I do see "Vudu UHD" for other movies in my list.

With the exception of Iron man, the other German exclusive movies "should" also be announced in other places too in the next month or 2.

With regards to VUDU, a few of the lionsgate movies from early 2016 have been added. Expendables 3 and Divergent 1 also. I'm not finding them by searching but screenshots like those above were posted on. Bluray.com

My 6 target preorders come out to $18 each. Through Amazon right now it would be $28.00 each.

I just ordered 9 movies from Target and it cost me $20 each. Thanks to all of you people that mentioned the Target sale!

even though you did not talk price, your picture shows a price. i have been dinged twice for mentioning price. be careful, the mods are selective when they hand out violations. i will assume it will be ok to post pictures of prices as long as i don't mention it in the text since your post has not been deleted.

mods, please be consistent with your violations notices. still love ya, but huddle up and let us know what is price talk and what is not.

i am asking. are pictures ok???

I bought the UHD HDR Atmos lossless audio version of Elysium from the Kaleidescape store, downloaded it to my Kscape Strato, and watched it last night. Unless you are a Strato owner, you can’t see and hear this exact version, although the UHD HDR version can be rented or bought from Amazon. The Amazon version is streamed, though, so it will come with only lossy audio. I liked the movie well enough, particularly the scenery chewing nastiness of Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, and William Fichtner, all playing evil oppressors of the masses on a post Apocolyptic earth. The story is pretty mindless but the special effects and action sequences are good.

The film has an excellent HDR treatment. Nothing is overdone and the overall picture is much brighter than I have been accustomed to seeing in HDR films. Bottom line, this is one of the best looking UHD HDR films I have seen. The Atmos audio is good, sometimes excellent, but still far from the best I have heard. Recommended, but only if you, like me, enjoy loud and dumb films if they have excellent ensemble casts, and look and sound great. 7 Stars out 10.

HT setup: Sony 75XBR X940D UHD HDR TV; Kaleidescape Strato Movie Server 6 TB; Yamaha RX-A3060 AV receiver; Sonamp 2-1 2channel 100W power amp; Crestron Control System; 2 Rythmik FV18 subwoofers, 6 Hsu HB-1 Bookshelf speakers, 1 Hsu HC-1 Center speaker, 4 Focal ICW8 in-ceiling Atmos speakers; Oppo UDP-203 4K HDR BD player; Mac Mini HTPC. TiVO Bolt 1TB DVR; TiVo Premiere Elite 2 TB DVR; Roku Premiere+

The Moscow episode from season 3 of Chef's Table is beautiful. The restaurant is in an all glass room on top of a skyscraper so it has a brilliant view to the sunsets, it's not the typical grey and dreary russia as you may imagine.
