Nice. I am going to watch that list to see when King Kong and the Harry Potters redeem in UHD.

It is nice to watch Power Rangers in DV without the elevated grays issue
You can already redeem the potters and king Kong for uhd uv locker rights. Just can't view them on Vudu in Uhd because they don't have the dv encode.

However, you can watch king Kong via your Uhd redeem on Fandangonow in hdr10. Same with the mummy trilogy.

PS:. Always follow that sheet for redeems. It's a matrix, for sure.

So, for everyone's hatred of digital redeems, relief is on the way:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-movie-service

Yes, this an old article, but: This is actually happening in the "background" *now* and there are already around 6500 movies from other studios in the Keychest system. Only holdout is Paramount.

I dont know anything else and it's not live yet to the end user, but this is being confirmed by program scrapes of VUDU titles and will most likely be called Movies Anywhere.

Hopefully this means combining Ultraviolet and DMA, rather than more splitting of movies between the two services. Considering VUDU has both UV and DMA on the same site, this may be a possibility.

I was thinking the same thing as it should be combined, otherwise it's just going to add some more confusion and frustration.

I have not redeemed any of my codes for digital downloads. I'm not sure I will only because it don't make sense for me. I'd rather watch physical media on my set. None of my mobile devices can do UHD so to try and get a digital version of UHD is moot for me.

Agreed. in fact, why do we need a competitor to UltraViolet if we're going to suggest that the new boy is combined with them anyway?

I'm curious but how did you watch with madvr? I'd upgrade my PC right now if this is universally possible because madvr hdr tonemapping for a projector would be amazing.

The few times I've redeemed prior to release, they didn't go live until release day of the disc, or a few days earlier. I don't redeem them before release day any more. To help avoid issues.

I plan on picking up Ghost in the Shell on release day from Best Buy. I'm hoping the price will drop below $25 by then.

It doesn't seem to drop much before release on a lot of UHD titles? For instance, Kong: Skull Island is still around $30.00 where it used to be they would come down right before release day. We need another retailer to have a buy 2, get 1 free promotion...

I have no idea what happened with King Kong. That seems to be an outlier. Most other releases seem to end up dropping around release. And then I just have Best Buy price match. I'm not doing many pre-orders any more, unless they drop low before release, Like Resident Evil: Vendetta did. Otherwise BestBuy doesn't typically match a pre-order. So it's usually easier to wait until release and then price match. Otherwise if I pre-order they could make you spend sometimes, ten to twenty minutes on the phone to match the price.

The terminator 2 4k hdr package with the endo terminator arm is now up for pre-order on Amazon. Forewarning, it's full price and was cheaper if you could import it.

But is it Netflix choice on which shares they have in DV and not? Doesn't it depend on whether that's the source they get to stream. If they don't get a DV version they can't offer it in DV. I honestly don't know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I could be wrong but all their hdr content is both dv and hdr10 now. Someone else probably knows.

You are correct about that. HDR10 is in the DV data. If the TV is capable of DV it will show that, if it is not it will show just HDR10. But everything they get is not made in DV. They can only offer what's made in DV if that's what's given to them. I think the source they get from the provider has to be graded in DV or they can't offer it in DV. But I could be wrong about that.

That would actually make sense.

Because it would also explain why a show like 'Stranger Things' isn't available in DV/HDR10.
