T - yeah, it would be funny if people showed up with all those cheetohs and 1 7-up But I don't mind providing....... as for DVD-A, I can play those as well on my system. If you have them I would definitely bring'em.

I got the ftp access a few days ago and tried them out on my setup. Even though they are dvd based it really gives the system a great workout in terms of sq. Lot of fun! I could get these along as well along with the other good stuff. If anyone is interested in getting these dvd's on your own pm me and i can send you the details of the FTP Server.

Daman, I'll have to check out that thread and see what it's about. Thanks for the pointer.........

Hi guys,

Jamis just turned me on to this thread... I'm in the South Shore of MA. If you guys decide on a date I would like to try and attend if possible. I'm still in the middle of my build and have modest equipment but my room is operational and I would also like to eventually host. The only thing though is that we don't drink alcohol and would like to not have it in our home, if that's cool with everyone I will take a turn and host.

Glad to see the New Englanders possibly getting together.

Welcome to the thread! I am really impressed by your theater build thread!! Seems like a whole lot of effort and love went into it. I would love to visit when you host and check it out in all its coolness. The curved screen sounds really fantastic! I'm cool with the alcohol part and can totally understand your point of view Hope to see you more here and also pick up some pointers from you for my build

I just found this thread. I am in western mass. I started a similar thread a few years ago and was never able to get much interest in a meet. I have a dedicated finished theater ( my pictures and equipment are very outdated) It seemed that everyone always lived too far for me to host a meet.

Thanks for the welcome I am in easthampton which is about 20 minutes north of springfield. I would certainly like to host a meet if there was any interest I know that distance is always a major factor. I just ordered a new panasonic ae3000 pj and would like to show it off.

Dan, welcome!! Slowly but surely we are drawing everyone out from hiding
So does that make 6 people interested? I lost count already....

Would definitely love to see the new Panny Dan.. you are quite a distance for me at least, but hopefully we can work something out As t said, what are you upgrading from.. i myself upgraded to a Sony VPL-VW40 from a Infocus 4805 and was blown away by all the HD goodness on the projector. Even though i have had flatscreens for a while that were HD, nothing compares to the HD on a FP

I am upgrading from a panasonic ae2000 i hope it is a nice improvement. My first pj was an infocus 4805. That was a great little pj After that i had a panny 700 then a panny 900 then an epson 810 then the panny 2000. I never seem to be happy . I just took the 2000 down from the mount 1678 hrs on the bulb in 14 months. My son plays alot of xbox. It is nicr to have some action on this thread. I tried but no luck when i started the western mass thread a few years ago.
i am always happy to demo my theater anytime. I would be happy to provide some beverages as well.

Great article about your theater. A pj shoot out would be nice. I would be interested In either hosting or going to someones house I dont mind driving.
I just started using my new panasonic 3000 on friday. It is a good upgrade from my old 2000 i am very pleased with the improvement. I was just in Boston last night. A couple friends and my wife and myself took a limo to boston amd had dinner at the bonfire restaurant. Great steaks but expensive. I dont usually go in limos but one of my friends got the limo for free in exchange for some advertising .

Damn, I gotta look into a front projector, everyone has one but me
seems like everyone wants to participate and it looks like we have enough people interested in for a meet. So I know there has been many offers out there to host the event as well (myself included). Let me ask everyone this, if we picked a weekend day, which would you prefer.....Saturday? or Sunday? And would you want to get the meet in Feb.? or is that not enough lead time?
I am excited to get this going and even make it a frequent event!!!
Let's here what you have to say.......

Still no luck there.. but im in no hurry as what i have currently for holding the equipment works, though its not ideal.

I might end up getting a AV rack from omnimount because of the large amp when i finally do finish the theater.. The economy in its current state is making me holding off doing that

seems like everyone wants to participate and it looks like we have enough people interested in for a meet.

Chris

A saturday or sunday would be fine for me. If we are going to take this to the next step i think we need to find out who wants to do this. what date and whose house. Location is a factor also. I live in western mass about 90 miles west of Boston . Much as i would like to host a meet that may be too far for many here.

It's good to see this thread has evolved to be include front projection.

W3bbY, would you be interested in seeing your projector on a high gain white screen? I showed my RS20 to a forum member in his bat cave in Woonsocket last Saturday and he was wanting to know how an RS10 would look. He has a 2.35:1 11-foot wide High Power, SIM2 HT380 (I know, rainbows), ISCO III, Crystalio II, HTPC, DISH Network, and surround sound system.

Weekends are the best for me. I'm not available until after the 9th, and then only some weekend days, but will come whenever I can. It's always nice to meet other enthusiasts and check out different projectors and screens.

Does anyone here happen to have a Silverstar screen or know of someone in the area who does?

Saturday is best for me too. Man everyone is onto 1080P. I figured I wouldn't be able to swing one for way to long so I jumped on the Epson HC400 when it had a $500.00 rebate. If I knew then what I know now I would probably have gotten a Panasonic 3000. Grrrr...Oh well I guess I could look at it as though I saved $1,600.00 and have been able to enjoy it for quite a while before the 3000 came out. Still gonna be a long time before I get WAF to upgrade to 1080P.

Well count me as one of the happy 720P pj owners!
I have an InFocus 7205 that I've been very happy with for the past 3 years. If I did go 1080P pj, then I'd have to buy BluRay and I don't have the $$ for all that right now. I'd rather live in my own private Idaho and enjoy what I have. Plus I have other vices that require my $$ too.
