Breaking this out into it's own thread....

Saturday May 30th - 1pm

Weather permitting, we can fire up the grill for burgers and hot dogs. We will also have some beverages and popcorn available. Feel free to bring food items and additional beverages to share if you so desire.

I'd like to keep this fairly casual. I have no agenda planned or current thoughts on demos or presentations. I am open to suggestions but again, we don't need to go overboard. Spouses welcome (they can start a support group!).

I am located in North Central MA in the Leominster/Sterling area. Easy access from rts 117, 190, and 2.

Send me a PM with your email address and number of attendees (including yourself) to RSVP so I can plan for food and send out directions.

Current List:

jamis (+1) - burgers, hot dogs, buns, popcorn, some beverages.
dan webster - shrimp, booze
oman321 - mentioned a possible dessert
Toys7505
hrd
md1953 (+1) - potato salad
teknoguy - kielbasa, ketchup, mustard
Daman S - chicken tikka
hifibitn
owl1 (maybe)

Just return the favor and set things up so we can watch the triple stack meet later this month. I believe it is supposed to take place in Indiana.

When I first saw the date, I thought that was the weekend that I was scheduled be in AZ working on my theater, but luckily, I'll be back by then. I'll bring my Pioneer Elite FPJ1 and if there's time, we can do a quick comparison with the Panny AE3000. Should be a lot of fun, thanks for the invite.

I think to make things easier... it might be best to have people post if they plan on bringing something. This can reduce overlaps and make it easier on me for coordination. I will update the first post with what people think they might be bringing.

I will supply burgers, dogs, buns, and some beverages.

All food and beverage contributions are welcome and very much appreciated, though are absolutely not required.

So besides the "eating" aspect of this meet ...what ideas for the A/V side does anyone have? (Not that I have anything against eating.)

Just wondering,

PS Do we all get name-tags?

I was definately planning for name tags.

As for the technical aspects... I didn't have much planned yet, but we can definately do some demos with my equipment (see my thread for the complete list). I believe md1953 also mentioned that he might bring his Pio FPJ1 projector which we could compare with my AE3000 if there is interest. We could even play a few rounds of Rock Band if people wanted.

I'm flexible and open to suggestions. Just let me know!

Sorry, you did mention that you and others were possibly doing a demo of FP. That would be nice!!! I've been so full of medication for the last few weeks (due to a medical issue) that I forget things more.

And as I think I mentioned before, I'll bring some of the Demo Disks that I was able to get from some folks on the Forum.

Just talking with other like-minded folks will be fun too!
I'm really hoping to be able to make this 'meet'.

Very nice.. Jamis i will see if i can dismount my Sony VPL-VW40 and bring it along for the shootout. I would like to see how it stacks up against the Panny and the Pioneer. I can bring some Dire Straits/Police/Pink Floyd/Diana Krall SACD's as well.

Sounds like I'm going to have to figure out a power/cabling/mounting solution for this.... but it should be possible. Mostly likely it will be a box, stool, or something similar sitting on the bar.
