Just wondering how many people are from the seattle area with media/theater rooms and if they ever meet up?

Sounds like a good setup! I'm just about to purchase my stuff for the build. I think what I'm probably getting is a Onkyo 707, monoprice 4x4 matrix, bd-60 blue-ray, a couple 32" lcds for the other rooms, maybe a 60" (purchased later) and have no idea on some good speakers at a decent price??? Prob get a harmony 1100 with an rf extender to run it all but just working on finding good deals right now! Already got a wii and some other stuff.

We've tried to do this before but it rarely works out. People's schedules just don't mash up well. There are A LOT of HT enthuasists in the Seattle/Western Washington area, but getting them all together is typically painful if it happens at all.

Hey guys - I'm in Edmonds, but only about 40% complete on my theater room at the moment.
Wifi - good idea on the facebook thing, but I'm kinda anti Facebook (had too many female "friends" that used it too much - got tired of all the meaningless updates). If I reactivate my account, is there a way I can set it up to not recieve all those updates, but still get updates from your page?

I asked for an invite. My name is Anthony. I would love to meet up to learn some more. I have a small theater I built a couple of years ago.

Ok....I reactivated my facebook and sent an invite request. The shame.....!!

My theater has hit a budget constraint.....as in no money for now. If anyone runs across any good deals on channel and 5/8 drywall, let me know. Got all the GG sitting in the garage, but nothing to put it on!

I'm also in the area (Redmond) and would also be interested in a local meet-up. Although we don't have a projector setup (yet!), we're at least slumming along with a 60" Kuro Elite 141 and decent sound system. Like most of you, I do enjoy this hobby and tweaking the systems to get that extra little uumph...

I've had the pleasure of meeting dla26 and sage a few months back when I demo'ed their SVS subs when I was looking to replace or upgrade my then-dead MFW-15. They both were gracious enough to have me over to their respective houses to demo their subs - well, entire system by default. Both were good guys and we mentioned starting up an pseudo-enthusiasts club, but lives got busy and this idea fell to the wayside... Both of them had very nice systems - I'd be more than happy to take gear off their hands whenever they upgrade!

I'd be interested in a meet 'n demo evening sometime, and could possibly host at our house. Theatre seating for four, room for more in front or behind. Always fun to talk shop with fellow Forum members that appreciate getting the most out of their systems...

Regarding FB, I haven't logged on in almost 2.5 years, and embarrassingly proud of that. So I'll keep track of this thread, and feel free to PM me if you like...

Thanks!

If any of you guys want a Google+ invite just PM me your Gmail address.

The 10 person video chat "hangout" function might be interesting for talking about home theater stuff.

^^ Tyler, just replied to your gmail request. Sorry for delay, I primarily use a Yahoo email for 99% of non-work stuff.

I PM'd dla26 a few weeks back, he indicated he's still interested in a GTG one day, as am I...

Nice surprise to see this pop back up at the top of my subscribed threads! Guess I need to log into FB for the first time in three years and hopefully meet up at a future GTG...

FWIW, not sure how you all are controlling your systems, but I recently ventured into the world of remote control apps on Android tablets - it's pretty cool what you can do! Being a non-Apple guy, I bought a TouchSquid remote (Android-based) earlier this year as an Early Adopter and have enjoyed programming/customizing and providing feedback for improvements. Last week I downloaded the trial version of iRule, and upgraded to the Basic version yesterday and have been using it on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, along with a Global Cache WF2IR. I am completely blown away with iRule, and would think any HT enthusiast should consider this, though there is a bit of a learning curve. If anyone is interested I'd be glad to post up some screenshots via my laptop (not sure how to upload from the Tab while replying in the AVS app).

I'd be happy to bring the Tab running iRule to a future GTG to demonstrate - unless this is old stuff to you guys and I'm just late to the party!

Hi Seattle area group, I just moved to the area (Kent) and I am in no way an audiophile and I do not have an elaborate setup. I really am looking for some help in setting up my system, for some reason I am having problems getting audio from all 5 speakers at the same time. We did get them all working together once but it was very unbalanced. I am 99% positive that I have everything hooked up correctly but configuring the receiver is what seems to be causing me problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated, here is what I am working with:

Yamaha HTR-6130
Sharp Aquos LC-42D64U
1st gen. PS3
Comcast HD Cable box + Modem
Netgear Router

thanks.

There's really nothing about your setup problem that is specific to Seattle (unless you were hoping that someone would come to your house to set it up for you!), so I'd recommend posting your question in the Receivers, Amps, and Processors forum. I'd also recommend doing a search for HTR-6130 to see if anyone else has had similar problems.

Dfur, I'm familiar w/ Yamaha receivers and might be able to help. Feel free to PM me...plus I'm fairly local to you as I live in Renton...

Back OT, any interest in a local GTG sometime in 2013? Maybe something to do with the new Spears and Munsil disc. I've read Kris Deering's review of the original disc at Hometheater.com website, so maybe there's a review of 2nd edition coming...

There is SVS AS-EQ1 that is available in the Seattle area but the seller only wants a local sale. Anyone here care to help me out with this sale and ship it out? I live in MA.
