Relatively new to this forum, but I have been into HT for a while. Unfortunately, I have a wedding the 12th and can't make it, maybe next time.

Will guys looks like I'm getting a new sub and it's the HSU VTF15 this week. This will be fun to see how this sub does with movies and music. I'm looking forward to this met. If you have anything that you would like to try just bring it.

if you go to HT101 : http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=824554
down the bottom there are some links to test tones. I like the real traps one.
it may help you set up your sub....

Got the sub yesterday and hook up today. I'm going to calibrate this weekend the sub and see what happens. If anyone has free time on there hands and would, like to stop by let me know. I'm going to need some help with this sub.

best bet is about 4" from the wall and if there is a sound port on the back same thing
or tip the front of it away from the wall if you do not have the room and the port side the 4+" if possible.
try the real traps DL from the 101 page and start from there. it took me close to two
months to get it where it is. I have the 12" bic with the subs volume at 3 3/4 to 4 out of 10.
any louder than that it vibrates. you do not want to hear any noise from the sub.
I had to adjust what I had driving it until there was a lot of volume but no distortion.
again that is how the real traps DL will help, listen for clean tones.
my 12' will shake my house and I do not hear where it is coming from.
so be patient while you get the adjustment set for your environment...and equipment.
hope that helps....if not pm me.

real traps goes from 10 Hz to 300Hz in ten second intervals per Hz...I had it on a cd
and also on my ipod. cd will play on most dvd players........

What kind of measurements? If its physical (ie measuring tape) then Im down to help. If its tech based measurements you talking about, I dont have any equipment, but could lend a hand. Are you going to Jsils meet on saturday? We can talk then.

I don't need snobs to tell me how to think, thank you!

jsil, what were your thoughts when running the test tone cd and the dishes started
to rattle in the other room? I do not think you had it at your usual volume during
movie watching did you?

just to say on the sub forum area when I see some one living in a apt. or condo I
advise them to wait until they move into a house before buying a subwoofer like yours.

it could shake stuff off walls and bookcases in the neighbor's side.

PS did you see notnyt's youtube video?

I had a great time and your gear is fantastic. I love your monster sub...makes my little subs seem like toys .

I would like to have another GtG at my place soon, especially since we are getting more people involved, but with all the holidays and what not I don't have a date set yet...I am also planning on reworking my set up a bit soon, need to find the time though.

I don't need snobs to tell me how to think, thank you!

eaamon,
I'm still trying to see what spot is best for the sub. The volume was set low for the test run. I'll do some more testing later. If you like you can stop by and help with the testing of the sub. Also that's one crazy video with those sub's.

Im fully 3D capable, even own a couple of 3D blu-rays, but have not yet invested in any glasses. If you (or anyone) has some DLP link glasses feel free to bring 'em to my place for the next meet.

Me?? nope. Most all RP DLP's are 3d capable.

My set is the first model that does not require the special 3D adapter from Mitsubishi to make 3D work though.
