Me again, am I an army of one? I would honestly be interested in meeting others interested in discussing/sharing HT in AZ.

That's a really nice-looking home theater. How about posting some info on your speakers, electronics, acoustic treatements, etc.?

You might enjoy some of the activities hosted by the Arizona Audio Video Club. Some of the clubmembers are into audio only, but a number of us are HT enthusiasts. The club website can be found at azavclub dot org.

This month's meeting of the Arizona Audio Video Club will be on TUESDAY 26 February, from 7PM to 9PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9424 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, and will feature a local bluegrass group, the Bill Gibbons Trio. The sounds of the trio of guitar, banjo, and upright bass will be acoustic only. Club member Peter Eichen will be recording the event in 96/24 hi-rez, and selections from this show will eventually appear on the Club's hi-rez demo disc that Phil Hole is assembling.

Bring your spouses, friends, etc. Let's show the world that we hi-fi geeks really do like music and not just equipment. If you are bringing a guest or two, please e-mail jeffreybehr @ cox dot net so we can have enough chairs and refreshments. Guests and prospective members are encouraged to attend. The club's website can be found at azavclub dot org.

I am also in Arizona. Currently in Casa Grande but will be moving to Tucson in the fall.

Don't know if I'll be able to make it to the AZAVC meeting on wednsday as its pretty short notice, but I might try and see if I can attend next month's meeting. I'm eager to see how Arizona AV geeks roll these days.

Stand tall and shake the heavens...

LMC Home Entertainment of Scottsdale, AZ

I am curious if anyone ever reads out-dated forum postings. Guess we'll find out. I was searching for any AVS Forum link I could find to the above business and this is the only one I could find. First, let me say that AudiogoN should never put a time limit on leaving feedback for an auction. How can you leave feedback for a person/company (in this case LMCHE) in the alloted time frame if they haven't supplied everything they promised and they continue to promise they will fulfill the contract four freakin' months later?? You would think a company that represents the high end of high end audio equipment would be a class act, but these folks are just shysters. You would think spending over $5000 for a B&W Diamond speaker would translate into honest, professional customer service. Guess again. So now I have to foot the bill for a couple hundred bucks for the spike feet they promised. I hope in some small measure this posting will cost them that much and more in the way of lost business. At least I will sleep better tonight getting this off my chest.

September Club Meeting

The Arizona Audio Video Club will meet at 7 pm on Wednesday, 9/24, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 9424 N. Seventh Ave., in Phoenix. Nonmembers are encouraged to attend. The club's website can be found at azavclub dot org

This will be a music meeting, featuring a club-member’s two-channel gear. Speakers are Serenity Acoustics Super-7s serenityacoustics dot com/products/thesuper7 These are a product of GR Research's Danny Richey. The Super-7s are hybrid mag-planar/dual-12"-bass systems, all open-baffle. Midrange and treble are handled by four custom-built Bohlender-Graebener midrange (Neo-10 PDR) drivers and one 3" Neo-3 PDR tweeter in an MTM arrangement. Bass is reproduced by two servo-controlled 12" cones driven by high-power bass amps that are designed with the servo controls. The Seven's sensitivity is high at 97dB.

Two different pairs of mono amps will be demonstrated: first, a pair of 8-Watt, Single-Ended-Triode amps, Coincident Frankenstein IIs. These use a dual-triode 13EM7 gain-and-driver tube, a 300B output tube, and a 5U4GB high-Voltage rectifier. We'll also hear a pair of WAVAC MD-805m amps. These are 55-Watt SETs using an 805 output and 5751 and 6Y6GT gain and driver tubes.

The system will also include a Conrad-Johnson MET1 vacuum-tubed preamp and an Oppo 95 disc player.

Refreshments will be served.
