The Pink Poodle still around?

Sometimes I lie awake at night wondering if our impressions of Sub B would have changed if the inuke didn't save the Captivator during the grueling scenes. The night before it was chuffing during Friends so it still makes me wonder.

I believe desertdome is finishing you and your friend's background check. If it clears, he will send the application form and the committee will decide if you two are meet the standards.

Kwarny...

your pants are ablaze... wink.gif

I'd like to redo the blind testing with the crown xls-5000 to give the cap pros a fair shake in the movie section. biggrin.gif But I think Gorilla83's meet in Philly will give the caps the vindication they deserve - because his pair will indeed be powered by a XLS-5000 amp. cool.gif

It is nice that you will be able to enjoy the Caps one last weekend before you experience true sealed bass at desertdomes and huskeromaha's house. The extra bandwith will make your Caps sound like a kid's karaoke machine when you get home.

Desertdome doesn't partake in beers. Well, I lied. He likes any craft beer. He has tried many, so try and find something out of right field. Or is it left?

Good. It will be way more worth your time coming up here to hear an infinite baffle and quality sealed setup. Going to these continuous ported KC meets may be a waste of time. smile.gif

I wanted to get everyone's idea on what we would like to have for lunch. I myself was thinking pulled pork sandwiches and chicken with all the fixings buffet style. Chime In with your ideas if this does not appeal to you.
I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone that's coming smile.gif

I see we both joined AVS in August of 2004. I've added you to the list. Instead of a velvet rope I'm just using bailing twine.

darn...I ate there about 7 years ago maybe? It was the best prime rib I've ever had for about $30 or $35 bucks. The prime rib was so soft you could easily cut it with just a fork and it was the size of the dinner plate. They told me each piece was slow cooked for 24 hours when I inquired!

What a shame to hear it's no longer the same. mad.giffrown.gif I've been wanting to have another piece of that prime rib since that original experience!

What else do you recommend in Omaha?

Excellent, thanks. You're right, we did both join the same month - that's quite a coincidence! It's been a while since I've been looking around the Theater Build section. Omaha is pretty well represented and you guys have done some incredible stuff. As far as locations - do you pm that info?

Brother Sebastian's in Omaha has a very tasty prime rib but not the size of your head. You need to go to Gurney's in Missouri Valley on Friday or Saturday for that. Or you can go to the Twisted Tail in Beebeetown for a smoked prime on Saturday nights. Both of these are about 30 minutes north of Omaha and well worth the drive. Both are under $22 too!

My favorite for prime rib is Piccolo's. It is also Warren Buffett's favorite restaurant. Johnny's Cafe has always been a favorite. The average diner's age is about 80 years old. I also like Farmer Browns in Waterloo. There is little sport's bar called Shevy's a few blocks from my house that has good prime rib but the atmosphere isn't anything special.

I think "all the fixings" probably includes fruit and vegetables. smile.gif

We will PM the locations and stuff to the guest list a few days before the Tour. All homes are in west Omaha/Elkhorn.

My focus right now is trying to get my speakers built. I'm trying to strip the existing finish off the rosewood veneer so I can apply shellac and high gloss polyurethane. I spent hours Saturday wiping finish dissolver on one speaker and there is still old finish left. I may have to use a stripper, but am afraid it will also soften the veneer adhesive/glue. It will also probably remove the stain. I should have just left the cabinets alone and installed the drivers. However, I wanted a high gloss finish and felt it would be better in the long run for the veneer and would provide more protection against dings.

OK I officially have the weekend open and approval from the scheduling committee ( you married men are well aware of the stringent process that committee follows) to attend. I still need to work out times and a place to crash. Thanks for those who offered to help on the location to crash - except for the van down by the river suggestion, not so sure I can say thanks for that.

Looking forward to it!
