That is a ridiculously good price for an iNuke DSP 3000. I already own two and might consider buying a third since I have some sealed subs being built in January.... Though I'd probably prefer an iNuke DSP 1000 for the four buttkicker mini transducers with an equivalent discount. tongue.gif

Hey y'all, new to the area (Shawnee 66226). I'm about to pull the trigger with Erskine Group to detail my build. I had started a build thread in the dedicated area to document it all eventually.

Anyhow, Shawn pointed me to this thread to maybe meet some locals and hear some different setups to decide how married I am to my full Klipsch + Danley set-up. Particularly he mentioned Randy's Procella set-up as it's his preferred configuration.

Anyhow, my set-up currently is as follows:

Epson 5010
Elite Screens 120" 16x9
Yamaha Aventage 1030
Outlaw 7500 5ch amp
QSC 4050hd LFE amp
Klipsch rf7 L+R
Klipsch rc64-2 C
Klipsch cdt5800 front presence
Klipsch rs62-2 side surrounds
Klipsch cdt5800 rear surrounds
MK Sound 12" active sub
(2) Danley DTS-10 passive subs
HDhomerunPrime3 cablecard networked based

HTPC 4u rackmount
i5 haswell
nvidia 660 vdo card
media browser theater

HTPC-server 4u rackmount
24bay hotswap server
currently has 25terabytes of space and holding ~300 blurays 1:1 copys
media browser server

And a link to my build thread (shows current finished basement setting)

welcome to the area. great place to be for an enthusiast. i will tell you right now if you are happy with your klipsch setup, don't go to to carp's house or archaea's either. if you hear the the noesis and you are like me, you'll probably want them.

i am a klipsch guy but the jtr's are just spectacular sounding. they maintain their smoothness all the way past the volume that a klipsch can handle. but to me that is chasing that last little percentage for a lot more money that i can afford to have.

i would love to come hear your danleys. i have been waiting to hear a horn sub, let alone that specific one. sounds like you should have a little demo day and we maybe can all get together and come have a meet and greet.

Welcome jbcain. We have some similar equipment. I did the layout service with Erskine group through Avs forum. I hope to find out soon how it all turned out. Goal is to finish In a week or two. Thanksgiving is taking a lot of time right now. I will
Have all of you over when it is completed. It may be hot in there if I don't get my hvac sorted out before you come!

I also have klipsch rf series for now and second that the noesis are a big step up although at a big step up in cost. At 50 percent off my rf83 were $625 ea and the 212's are $2200! So what do you expect right.

I am interested in your htpc stuff and I must hear your danleys! So when are you hosting for a demo!!! Are you all set up or have you actually just moved in?

While all of the theaters around here have something to offer......my personal favorite is Randy's set up. It is more about the cohesion of how everything works together. I had never really heard surround sound implemented correctly until I took a trip over there. A good layout, Lots of calibration, quest treatments, and tons of dsp. All of those things add up. Master and commander scene is a must. Have fun.

I'm actually all setup and running currently. I just have a flanking staircase and hallway directly connected to the room as it is an open floor plan. I'm most interested in the difference of full soundproofing vs standard room enclosure as normal people do. A demo of my setup sounds like a way to meet everyone. What's most people's schedules look like? I'm in the 66226 area and usually am home and settled around 530pm m-s and wide open on Sundays, besides morning mass.

Yeah I foolishly asked before checking out your link. Now that I have looked at your thread we do need to come over sometime.

Personally I am extremely busy for at least the next week or two.

Evenings after the kids go down at 8 are best.

We might be best off attempting a weekend. While my daughter doesn't mind the dts10s, the wife hears dog farts when she sleeps so a late night might not go over too well. a daytime session when I can entice her to visit family with the baby would most likely be the ticket. Happy wife happy life, no?

Jeff,

With due respect, I'll gladly add you to the active list once you become active. (meaning attend g2gs or some activities with the local group - "active" in the context of the first post not just meaning active on the forum, or still alive) wink.gif I know we met a couple years ago, but the guys in the active group, typically do/attend multiple activities per year with each other - I've been on interstate trips with most of them on several occasions for instance... By all means you are welcomed to attend anything we do or even schedule an open house for your theater or whatever. The group will start posting our activity list up here as well as the traditional e-mail out through the googlegroup.

I'm unavailable this weekend, but would love to visit your home sometime in the next couple months. DTS-10 subs are neat! I heard one setup properly in nebrunner's theater last year, but have not heard two yet.

We have some amazing subwoofer systems represented in KC now.
Five Submersive HPS at counsils and four Epik Empires
Eight Si 18" DIY sealed at carps
Two Gjallarhorns at d_c
Two DTS-10's at jbcain
Two JTR Captivators at Archaeas
Four Si 18" DIY sealed at Luke Kamps and two HSU VTF-15H
Four Si 18" DIY sealed at scrappydues
Four Dayton 18" HO DIY sealed at mrsmithers
One JTR Orbit Shifter at jedimastergrants
One Procella P18 at Randy Bessinger

^ Those off the top of my head... Within 30 minute drives we have most of the top rated subwoofer systems currently available.

I just picked up the shoes. 27 bucks.

Home Depot has porter cable compressor and nailer and brad and stapler for 199 if you are building. I just got one so now I can return mrsmithers.

Also picked up an iPad 2 at tArget with a 100 gift card so after that it is really 299. Going to use it as a remote for iRule.

I am busy for the next week or two but do want to check out your setup

Anyone done any "remote-on" mods to their pro amps? I think i'm going to pop open my QSC 4050hd and do some testing with a fluke to decide how i'm going to do my remote-on mod.

Also, any interest in my MK sound sb-12 subwoofer?

I'd be willing to trade for an anti-mode 8033 and some beer.

I'm tossing the idea out there to see if there is anyone interested.

The Atmos theater at Barry Woods is playing the new Hunger Games - Catching Fire movie tonight at 10:30PM.

Is anyone interested in meeting for the show?

Apparently the Atmos theaters are now called AMC Prime - and they've added buttkickers and recliner chairs supposedly?

AMC Theatres® is proud to introduce AMC Prime, a revolutionary movie-going experience that's now at AMC BarryWoods 24.

AMC Prime brings together a unique blend of enhanced sensory technology and premium comfort that allows our guests to feel every turn, takeoff and awe-inspiring explosion while reclining in a custom-fitted chair.

How is AMC Prime different? We’re glad you asked…
Recliner chairs that have subwoofers integrated into them so guests can “feel” the action they see on-screen
Dolby Atmos sound technology and JBL speakers surround guests on all sides for a world-class, immersive audio experience
A specialized screen that enhances the visual beauty of every film seen in an AMC Prime auditorium

We could go on and on about all the great features that come with seeing a movie in AMC Prime but that wouldn’t do it justice. It’s something you have to feel to believe.

Anybody interested? I know this is last minute, but I had a good day at work, and might like to end the evening by watching a movie at atmos...

Sounds fun but the timing is wrong for me. Plus I have yet to see the first one. I don't think I could stay up that late and still get up at 630 with the kids as per usual anyway.

I can't believe they have buttkickers installed! I do want to try it out sometime. Won't The Desolation of Smaug be mixed in Atmos just as An Unexpected Journey was?

It sounds like a blast but the fam and I have dinner plans tonight already and then with friends after. Plus the wife wants to see that one so I def could not swing it without her.

Just not seeing this. Cool idea, but man I hated that first movie. Camera shaking to the extreme, made me nauseous.

We have to check out the theater some time though that's for sure.

How have I missed this thread for so long? I would like any excuse to go the Atmos. I'm trying to get back to work on my theater this weekend but I'm currently watching the new VGX. It's replacing the VGA's of old. (Video Game Awards) I'm really digging this new format.
