Perhaps the Dolby Atmos Amaze track --- at least that's what I'd nominate. It's a good quick showcase clip.
Atmos Amaze (7.1 Lossless) - available for download here: http://www.demo-world.eu/2d-demo-trailers-hd/

Or the specific file here:
http://dl.demo-world.eu/download_2d_...less-DWEU.m2ts

I don't believe any of us have Atmos, but it's a very cool clip regardless. Would each host agree to play this one?
I would be willing to do that. I like that clip anyway. I don't want to force everyone to do it but if you guys want to then great. It is very short and should be no problem to fit in.

That does look sinister for a sedan! How many sets of tires are you budgeting for year one?

That's a confounded statement. In my mind --- if someone "likes to drive" - they like to shift! They like to be in complete control of the motor - even at the expense of a few moments of lap time. Automatics have come along way - but riddle me this. If I'm doing a rolling race with you, and say we are both going 25mph to start. If I've got my manual - I can put it in the proper gear to have the RPM in my powerband right out of the gate at the 3rd horn honk. With an automatic - it's got to waste a second (or even 160ms in your specific instance) to switch to the proper gear to generate the most power. I'll probably miss my next shift --- but hey you'll see my brakelights first.

I like to be connected with the car, and in control of what it does. I bought an old project corvette (bad decision as that was in 2006, and I'm still not using it) --- yet it was very intentionally purchased as a manual and I'd not have it any other way. For my daily driver? An automatic is fine. For a sports car -- enthusiast car? MANUAL!
I have a manual GTI at the moment and I am glad I went manual. But, I don't have much traffic at all on my commute. Stop and go traffic can get tiring with a manual.

In general I agree with your statements about performance sports cars and manuals. If it is driving for the pure enjoyment of driving then a manual it is.

However, there are some good paddle shifters out there now with manual modes that are very quick and will not upshift for you. So you can redline it in any gear you want. There is a huge difference in these gearboxes. In short I would have no problem with buying a sports car with a good one.......but a bad one would ruin the experience for me.

I have a feeling that my next car will be an automatic with paddle shifters that have a manual mode as long as it is a good one of course. My wife does not want to drive a manual so that is a selling point for me to be able to buy a different car.

I am looking at the current E90 M3. It has 4 doors (wife says it has to have a back seat) and a V8. I think when the new one comes out (I think this year?) the old ones will not be quite as desirable so price will drop just a bit more. I had an old E46 M3 and regret selling it. And yes it was a manual. But, I will be looking at the paddle shifters for my next M3.

No sir they are not. That is my oem for the GTI.

I like how you quantify money there. Sometimes I think I count my paycheck in the number of diapers it will buy!

I just got a call on my cell phone from a shipping company wanting to talk about giving our company some quotes for shipping. I handle these calls on occasion and was listening to the guy when I realized he had called on my cell phone. He said I had received a shipment from Reason Amplifier and my cell was listed as the contact. Reason Amplifier is out of St. Louis and the owner had personally built the Bill Fitzmaurice DR200's I brought down a couple years ago for the blind speaker contest. I can't believe I'm getting a call now from the trucking company!

Dave, I will have to come see your new 300. I must be getting old but I like a lot of iron and a lot of HP. The 300 hits both targets.

Those SRT's are freakin nice. Manual all the way, unless I am stuck living in an urban jungle. 3 hrs of non-stop shifting in stop and go traffic on way hone from work is just no fun.

Yep, there has been a long going argument with me and the wife about a manual in the Challenger if we should get it. I told her I really don't want it without it. On the other hand, happy wife, happy life! I was also looking at a Durango R/T. I am liking that one to.

With the 8-speed Torqueflite transmission, you would never miss the manual.

If I bought any form of sports car that wasn't a manual, my wife would kill me.

For me personally, it's either a manual or nothing for something sporty. No fun at all without it.

Geez. I thought going fast with effortless power was "fun".

It's all about mashing a clutch and throwing a shifter around.

Nice, I want a ride at the next L.A. meet. If you cruise down to San Diego I'll race you with my 2-speed electric car.

I have that transmission in my 300 and it is smooth as silk. 0-60 if effortless. The car just gets up and goes. I noticed when I was on the lot the 200 has a 9 speed auto!

Who all is interested in stopping by my place outside the crawl? If you are out of town, when are you arriving to KC and when are you departing? The wife is being a little more restrictive than I anticipated (2yr old children will do that I guess).
The options she is giving me right now (I haven't tried to negotiate for anything different yet) :

1. Friday 4 or 5pm done by 6/630.
2. Saturday 8:30am ish
3. Sunday 11am

I'm going to be Scott Simonian's wheels for the weekend, and I know he's interested in seeing as many theaters in the area as he can while he's here. I think there are some other out of towners who might be interested as well.

Scott doesn't get in till 8:40PM on Friday night IIRC. So we might hit up cvinfig's house (Real name = Chuck), if he's still offering on Friday night since it's close to the airport. @Reefdvr27 and @dlbeck and @desertdome might also want to join us on Friday night at Chucks? If Chuck isn't able to host a quick session on friday night - perhaps we could plan on meeting at AMC PRIME for a show?

I think Reefdvr27 (Dave) and Scott were both interested in hitting the AMC PRIME (though the movie wasn't optimal) --- so we could either do that Friday night or Sunday. I don't know their interest level though - given the movie ---- so they might prefer to see more local theaters if we have more alternate interested KC hosts?!?!?!?!

And yet another out of towner, I believe @W00lly is going to try to join the KC crawl as well, and may join forces with Scott and I. He is finalizing plans right now. He is a former g2g/crawl host from the Omaha area, and a g2g attendee as well. He might be surfing through the hosts with Scott and I.

So I say all that to say Saturday or Sunday might be best for the out of towners I know of - since some are flying or driving in. I'm not sure what time Reefdvr27 arrives into town? @desertdome, and @dlbeck - is 8:30AM on Sat or 11AM on Sunday, either one a better possibility for you?
@Rod2486 - what timeframe are you getting into town? Do you have any preferences on schedule? - Intent to meet up outside of the official crawl? Am I missing any of the out of towners here? @HuskerOmaha -- what is your schedule? Same question - are you interested in seeing any other places than what's on the official crawl?

------
@chirpie -- are you interested in opening up your theater on Sunday for out of town visitors?

I'd love to join you guys Friday night with whatever you end up doing, but I have a track meet. Still, I'll try to sneak out as soon as my jumpers are done so I'll check in with you guys to see what's going on when I'm done.

wadec22 - Where do you live?

I'll be Doug's house Friday afternoon and will be at Grant's no later than 8 pm. I'm spending the night at Grant's house.

So, depending on where wadec22 lives, either Friday early evening or Saturday morning work for me. I don't necessarily want to be driving all over KC, though.

Well men, I have some bad news. I got word from my GF about two weeks ago that she has a work related trip to Florida leaving on the Sunday of the meet around noon. She has been upset about me going because she wont see me that weekend until the following weekend. I have been thinking about if I should go or not, and have decided I better sit this one out for a few reasons.

1. She will be putting up with me golfing quite often throughout the summer, I feel I owe her this stay at the home for that reason especially haha.
2. I know if I go to the crawl I am going to leave with even more JTR loudspeaker envy than I already have and I have not even heard them yet. I am going to go and really want to purchase a set, and I need to focus that money on updating the home I am going to sell in the near future. So that I can get a new place that I can actually have a nice dedicated theater in and treat properly.

My one request. Please have another one of these in the near future if all goes well. I am very eager to listen to some nice dedicated theaters with excellent equipment. I am also excited to meet all of you guys who share the same passion for this hobby as I do. People around my neck of the woods could give two *****$ about HT. It sucks because I would like to get some of my friends into this hobby but they just dont seem to care. Would be awesome to sit back and chat with like minded people and not seem like I am boring you to death.

If there is never a crawl again in KC I would love to come over one weekend and get to listen to a few fellow JTR speaker owners so I can get an idea what I want to pair with my S2's when I get my new house.

So my spot is open to anyone else that wants to fill it. Or, it can add another seat for the people already going. Sorry for the late back out guys. I hope to see you all another time. Lets make that happen!

I understand Rod. Never fear there is a ton of interest around here from other hosts who were not able to get in on this day for one reason or another. So chances are very high that we have another. Possibly even later this year. I am going to leave the planning etc up to those hosts for that one. There is also a chance that when that second meet happens that the hosts from this one could be added on as optional stops.
