No matter what any of your enabler friends on this forum tell you, this is not normal. Lol. That's a mean front stage. Wow. FYI, you're long overdue for an avatar upgrade.

Thanks Vic. I just spent the evening seeing what this new setup can do. At first I though something was off a bit, but still thought the bass was good. And it was only the titans playing. Those 15's really move! Then once I got all six 18's going, holy S. it's more bass than I can even handle. My house begs for mercy. The doors rattle violently against the jambs. The toilet seats bounce and rattle. I'm nervous my neighbors will finally complain after all this time. Wow. I'm seriously at a loss for words. I can't believe how these two extra subs have changed things. And I'm hooked.

Enabler friends?! Lol! Says the guy with an almost identical set up!

None of us are "normal". That's a given.

Maybe we should ask the guy who's building four Sub-Maximus's? 😂

You're going to have to take those bad boys down to paint them.

I finally had some time yesterday and today so I was able to finish my last two volt 6lx cabs and get them ready for installation into my ceiling. Same as my first two atmos volts, I built the boxes 1/4" smaller all the way around so the baffle overhangs it. That will cover the rough ceiling tile cut and finish out all pretty. The only thing that stinks is these will be right over the bar. With only 7' ceilings, it's a real compromise. But it's the best my space can accommodate. I'm sure I'll get all of your opinions during the gtg!

I feel like when you're at the bar area of a theater, you're kind of a bit more of a spectator anyway. I mean, your standing there with a wall in front of you. The sound will be compromised no matter what. Its just cool to sit there with your drink and enjoy the show. The actual seats are where the full AV treatment is important.

I actually prefer the rear seats in mine which have the atmos over the seats I think you'll be happy with the outcome your room All ready sounds amazing and I'm sure this upgrade is only going to make it better

Thanks for the compliment, but my speakers will be about 4' above seated ear level. Yours are what? Like 10' above seated ear level?! Hahaha. I have to laugh about your room dimensions. It's so awesome. I can't wait for you to throw your gtg.

I do agree. Until I'm stuck at the bar because we have another couple over! Then I'm looking around the room, thinking what could I change, surfing avs, not watching the movie. Lol. But the money seats are that for a reason. These two more atmos speakers will improve the experience in the theater seats, but will probably detract from it at the bar. Oh well. Nothing is perfect.

I think they may actually make the bar seats more fun. They will be getting some Atmos action.

Funny you mention that... when we have people over for some reason they always want to sit in the back row even when I try to convince them it will be a better experience in the 'better seats'. Of course most of the time they don't give a crap about the way it is supposed to sound anyway

I think the Atmos speakers over the bar will definitely improve the "bar row" experience. Can't wait to see and hear the new room!

Thanks for the encouragement guys. We will see. I hope it improves the experience at the bar. But mostly I'm hoping it's better at the seats that always get used. And I'm sure it will be. Looking forward to hosting everyone and getting your opinions!

Here's a few pics of the two added atmos speakers. You can see how the rear right is extremely compromised behind the poo pipe I have to live with. But it's still unimpeded from the main seat.

Thanks! Haha no demos yet. Just mounted the speakers. Have not run wires. I'm really trying not to wire anything else to the current location of my avr. I need to build the new a/v rack for the back and wire everything to that location.

No I think I was getting carried away. I'm just going to finish the trim and a/v rack and call it done.

I might be in.... I don't post much, but I have an Epson 8350 with 120" screen, Polk RTI speakers, emotiva XPA-3, PSA XV30 (dual 15" sub) Everyone thinks the size is cool and loves popcorn...... but could care less about speakers, subs, or room acoustics. My wife says I'm crazy for caring about that stuff and at work people ask me why I have a room acoustics book on my desk...lol

Well please join us if you can. This is why we get together my friend. None of our friends or family members understand us! If nothing else, these get togethers are awesome just to talk to fellow avs'ers. But don't be disappointed, my room acoustics haven't been properly measured or tweaked. Let us know if you can make it.

Thanks Aaron. I want to do another row of tiles black velvet on the ceiling. But I'm too unsure how to do that around my can lights. Do they make black rings for the lights?
