Jk's July 29 GTG

SE MI,

I am planning another GTG for July 29th. Last year we had about 12 members over and it worked out great. I feel like I've made enough improvements to host again. I'll post an equipment list so you know what you'll have a chance to see. I'm also still wrapping up the remodeling so I have to stay on track to finish. So post here and let me know who is available to come check it out!
So far we have
@brian6751
@Kevin4730
@hd0823
@mushroommunk
@luv2fly3
@PTAaron
@gworrel
@bommer
@Axel
@ccssid123
@VicTorious1
@imrf
@DKVBSEATTLE
@bcodemz
@Rgb
@pnhayden
@Sweets10v8

I am too , there not done yet.
But I did hook up the new denon x6300H last night. Wow. I can't believe I won the online feeding frenzy to buy this thing. It's an awesome piece of equipment. It sounds surprisingly different. Better really. The surround feild seems more immersive, and not sure how the sub outputs work, but my last avr had the outputs at around -7, but there close to 0 now. Bass is super smooth and well implemented.
That may be all in my head of course. But I'm very happy with the upgrade.

The 6300 was actually the one I wanted but with all my purchases I decided to go with the marantz 7010 and save a couple bucks. I'll have to check out the 6300 at your meet I do like how you can run the multi room wireless speakers.

Yeah the heos feature I probably won't use. Well, maybe if they have any outdoor heos speakers I will. What I'm excited about is the Audyssey app for my phone. Supposedly you can tweak a lot of settings Audyssey makes which makes me happy I've always wondered what Audyssey does. Also I didn't even realize it, but the denon x-6300 has 11 amps. Pretty neat.

Not sure why the link doesn't work. It works for me. Can someone link this thread up to our official SE MI gtg thread?

Yeah the 11 amps was appealing to me but I allready had the mono blocks and had got a good deal on the marantz 7010 at the time for 1200.How much was the 6300 down to when I was looking at it. It cost 2200. Yeah I think I read the app for the phone is pretty close to the audyssey pro kit that use to cost 400 or so to buy

GTG to do list

Some of the things we will have to do
I'll grill brats with peppers and onions for food
We can take some REW measurements for fun
We can play with the Audyssey app for the denon. It looks pretty cool. It does midrange compensation, allows you to view and tweak graphs, shows before and after room graphs, and allows the user to tweak things. Pretty cool.
Obviously movie clips and music, what ever anyone wants to hear

.....
I would be very interested in that: learning more about REW and what conclusions to draw from the measurements, as well as the Audyssey app.

(BTW, I have the Audyssey Pro kit, but from what I understand Denon dropped the support for this model.)

I would definitely love to learn REW, how to measure and how to interpret the graphs as well. I know someone who knows what there doing will be there. I have a laptop and mic and the software so we will be able to play with it.

I'm in too. A lot of movement on AVS. Both you @Jk7.2 and @brian6751 have been pretty busy. @hd0823 where are you at with your room? Still working on the library? I need to kick my butt into gear. I've been traveling and when I'm home, I've been working on all the outdoors stuff.

Although I haven't been updating my thread, I'm hoping to start drywalling this weekend and adding my place into the mix too.

Not to much progress I knew when lawn season started it would be tough but I've been picking up a ton of jobs so been working 80 to 100 hr weeks so definitely been busy. I've been thinking of trying to get some of my buddies out to try and wrap up a bunch in one day just have to get a free day during the weekend
