Looking like jtr and seaton are going to be the benchmark everything will be tested against.

Where is the svs pb16?

Most impressive to me? Easily the Cap 1400 and F18+!
Good to hear you were able to give a quick first listen last weekend. How long of a slave cable should I send out to insure you get to hear both downstairs? It might be nice to have the cable long enough to set in the front corners or 1/4 width given you have a pair for listening.

When listening to the SubMersive HP, given the more open room, you can also try setting the PGM SEL button to the out position (then cycle the power to engage it). This will make the low frequency response shape more like the F18. Ultimately you can either turn it up some in the native response or use the 2nd program to start a little flatter down low. It might prove interesting for you to listen and compare both if time allows. Changing the LF Adjust knob on the F18+ or using the PGM SEL button to engage the 2nd DSP program does not change how loud the sub can get at any frequency, just how much input signal is required to get to the limits. It won't affect CEA measurements, but can affect where you might stop on a frequency response sweep. For example, you could sweep an F18+ at its highest overall levels with the knob set around the minimum (full counter clockwise).

It's good to hear there were differences and similarities heard. Do you have a plan to attempt to initially match the levels of the subs you are comparing?

I am going to have to redo all the CEA-2010 testing (Sorry @xcjago )! I did not properly follow the REW procedure for calibrating the sound card/interface (Yamaha MG10XU) with a loopback. Same with calibrating the SPL levels for the mic (Dayton EMM-6).

Everything is golden now.

Yes I do! I need to complete the measurements to setup the following in-room comparisons.

Seaton MFW-15 vs PSA V1801 vs JTR Cap 118 vs Cap 118 (vs Rythmik FV18 if possible)

Seaton Submersive HP vs Seaton F18+ vs PSA S3000 (vs Funk DO 12 {18.0C equiv} if possible)

**Seaton F18s & Submersive vs dual JTR Captivators**

Shoot, I thought something was off. Do you think there will be a correlation between the before and after numbers. Like old measurements +X dB = correct measurement?

Hopefully you guys get it figured out before this weekend GTG so that we can see reports comparing all of the 18" ported subs along with the sealed one of course.

@asarose247 and son came over today to test the smallest of his horn subs, the L-Horn (a little larger than 6'x2.5'x2'). They arrived around 9:30AM and it was already 90 degrees! I'm not sure how much heat affects horns but we were able to keep the INuke 6000DSP in the shade.

Above 20Hz it is an absolute beast! I did forget to run compression sweeps but we can do it at a later date as they don't live far from me. Attached are the CEA-2010 passing numbers we recorded. I can't wait to hear it in-room Saturday!

Today was my son's 4th birthday. Tomorrow night I will be able get several subs completed including the Cap 118 to see how my numbers correlate to data-bass.com.

Special thanks to Mark Seaton. He will make sure the slave cables are delivered Friday. With everything going on I haven't had the time/energy to build myself.

After hearing the single F18+ I went ahead and ordered two additional slaves. The deep bass detail is unlike anything I've heard. I haven't even played around with LF Adjust yet!

Mark also gave me some great pointers on how to better level match the subs using REW. Using the AVR's pink test tones has limitations.

I just returned from Marc's residence. It's an almost windless night.

We did CEA 2010 for JTR 118HT and PSA V1801. Marc has it all figured out so setting up and moving subs actually took longer than the test itself.

It's too bad that we are in a heat wave in SoCal right now so we couldn't start earlier.

I haven't spoken to Brian @Rythmik since Wednesday but it must have been an oversight that it was sent ground instead of 2-day.

Nathan Funk explained to me a technique to remove the driver and attempt to determine an orientation (gravitational pull) that may allow more volume without mechanical noise. I will try tomorrow.

Jeff P and Mark S have been helping me get a handle on the CEA testing. The numbers posted for the L-Horn are 2m/Peak. We simply need to subtract 3dB to get 2m/RMS.

We will post all of the numbers after the listening impressions. Don't want to bias the jury (although I may have inadvertently done so already).
