I say the more speakers the better. Would be nice to see some commercial speakers with compressions and some DIY.

Ha! Great minds! I ran mine with my two submersives

It's funny how some complain about that speaker given its price point. I had no complaints with them but just wanted a little more output. Even then I was still skeptical about trying something different.

If these posters can be made with the proper inner material to serve as acoustic treatment, and you are willing to sell or trade instructions, I'd love to see.

I live in Denton and would like an invite. I may bring some of my friends as well. But we don't know what we are doing and don't have any equipment to demo. I have old M&K THX Select speakers that I use for my home theater currently and the subwoofer is dying (MK 1250 I believe).

I think I mentioned bringing the raw drivers for someone who was going to build the Submaximus horn (sense the UM-18s are out of stock), but his plans changed.

I'm going to bring some damaged HT18s to see if we can figure out what's the issue with them though. Maybe some flat packs also, if someone wants to buy those at a nice discount. (If that's okay with the host)

Also, if any Houstonians are going and would like to carpool, I'm sure we can work something out.

No issues with me. The more we get out of the event, the better. I have an old Integra DTC-9.8 I'd love to sell though I doubt there will be any interest.

My driveway can accommodate about 8 cars and parking on my street should accommodate the rest. It is a wider street if there is concern. Worst case scenario, there is a public park down the road, with 100's of parking spots. If needed, we can park overflow and shuttle.

As for a schedule, I have started a rough draft, but nothing worth sharing at this time. I really want to get a lock on how many people will be here and what equipment is being shown. Demos of my theater will be limited to groups of 5 (for D-Box) +1 (me or another host). I will have help to host guests while demos are occurring. I also think we may need to start early too. I can pick up muffins and croissants from Costco for early arrivers and food can be served from lunch on. Nothing is on concrete, so these are just some thoughts.

As for the demos, I want to group folks together by listening preferences. For example, folks who think reference levels are too loud = group A, those who like reference levels = B and those who want to hear ref +5/10/? = other groups. There can be more than one group for each spl level. I do want to allow time for each demo too.

I am sure some folks will want to hear 9.4.4 vs. 7.4.4 vs ????. Maybe some with just widths only play to see what is missing. If this is a popular request, then I will incorporate it into each session.

I will also ask for what material folks will want to hear. I have a fairly large collection of media available but want to ensure we are prepared.

So, yes. Lots to work on.

Would we (or do you think we could) be able to demo our own material, music? I would be super curious to hear songs that I have been playing on my own system for months, and then hear the difference in another system.

Its nothing to really test the speakers, but more-so subs.

Seems like you're doing a lot for us attending, do we need to bring anything other than good food and beer?
Demo material, blu rays, etc.
