See you all at the theater tomorrow!

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

I went to the morning show yesterday (Saturday) at the AMC Prime in Burbank and it was a bust - the projector wouldn't start. After two consecutive 15 minute delays to reboot the server and projector, we were dismissed (those that wanted could go to the IMAX screen at the same complex). I hope you guys have better luck and enjoy the show!

Did you see it in IMAX? If so, what did you think? (I ask because it was shot with digital IMAX cameras)

I passed on the IMAX screening - I really wanted to see and hear how the Prime auditorium is, and I wanted to hear the Atmos soundtrack.

Unfortunate. It ran fine for the Friday morning show. It is one of the better Dolby Atmos mixes. And the brightness of two projectors for 3D is nothing to sneeze at.

Curt, Greg, my son and I will be seeing it in IMAX this afternoon (yes, we passed on Atmos). I'll call you after with group impressions.

So, LG will be the only company making Plasmas. Wonder how long before they stop as well.

In a few years, there'll be other prepros with just as many channels that will likely be cheaper.

Trinov for sure but because it's software based is what interests me the most. That means it's much easier to upgrade. Just like the ps3 is.

Should be easy, yes. Not always the case but I hear ya.

I was just talking to a friend of mine in KC and we agreed it would be sweet to see AVR's come out in a form that was more similar to a computer, ran off software and upgradable. The simple fact is that it could be done this way but nobody does because it's cheaper for the CE's to manufacture them like they do now AND they make more money from us selling it that way.

Oh well. I'll take what I can anyway and I do.

No pricing yet. My guess is the 32ch version will be in the 25,000 to 28,000 range. The 11ch one will probably start at around 12,000 and you can upgrade in in slots of 4ch.

I don't think the 11-channel version will be that cheap. Though there are people taking all sorts of guesses in the 20K section of the forum.

Lutron Serena IR Remote Controlled Blackout Shades

Hello LA AVS folks,

I hate to be that person but I'm just dropping in to post an ad for my excess number of Lutron IR Remote Controlled Shades. I did the same about a year ago and RayJr was kind enough to recognize me as an ok person to deal with (even though we only talked over the phone and never met or did any transactions). =P

Anyways, why am I back? To sell the same things! I still have all 13 of these, still wrapped, and totally unused. They retail for $300+ each and I'm only selling for $75 on Craigslist. For LA AVS I will sell for $60 each. I would prefer not to have to ship these anywhere or use ebay.

I purchased these from Lowes in Burbank. I only paid for 3 but 16 showed up on my doorstep. Apparently there was a clerical error at some point. I called Lowes and they did not care what I did with the extra. Go figure. But now I have no more space for these and I really hate to just throw these away since they are perfectly functional and unused.

Here are the details:
Custom made 29" wide and max height of 53.25". Height is adjustable to anything below that max height.
Standard white exterior with blackout properties.
Can be mounted inside or outside the window frame. If you mount inside the frame, there will be a bit of light leakage on the side.
Infrared model. Works perfectly with my Harmony Remote.
You will need to buy your own remote from Lowes ($20+). Or I can let you borrow mine to program your own Harmony.
Powered by 4 D-size batteries. Hardwiring not needed. As simple to install as a standard set of shades. Drill and screwdriver only tools needed.
I am in Pasadena. Stop by and I could show you what they look like installed and how they work.
Want to know more? Ask away or PM me.
