I'm planning on attending. Looking forward to seeing Kevin Voecks demo his Revels. And the Mac equipment.

aceg1,

thx for posting that.....they have got some really nice looking rooms / theater setups. I may swing by with my wife if time permits on that Saturday. There's a good Mexican restaurant in Torrance called the Coyote Cantina...in case anyone here wants to grab lunch before the show.

Jim,
Yes, this has turned out to be a very good upgrade so far. I haven't had the chance to hear the subs so far because I don't have the amp. But listening to LCR's through the baffle wall itself is quite revealing. My L/R speakers used to have more bass compared to center, but not anymore. I ended up using 4" fiberglass in between L/C/R, not sure if that is okay, but the front soundstage is more cleaner now and sounds uniform.

All in all, the baffle wall itself has the benefits. I guess IB is just a bonus. Or we can say Baffle wall turned out to be a nice bonus.

Good to know you like !!
I think the IB part will kick in soon enough too. Actually, that is a cool idea the way you did that. A new one for me. Very creative.

Manoj,

Any ETA on the amp? If it's going to be a while you can borrow one of mine. It's an older EPX4000, but it should be able to drive your subs to moderate levels at least.

Duc,

The ETA on this amp keeps changing. I placed the order more than a month ago. The latest ETA is July 31st.

Thanks for the amp borrowing offer. If you are not using the amp, then sure - just tell me the time to pickup.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that thre is going to be a large Head-Fi.org meet in LA (Woodland Hills) one week from today, August 9th, 2014.

I will be there demoing my headphone/home theater software so please stop by table for a demo. If you ever wanted to be able to watch movies with headphones, this is your chance. It's also great chance to hear lots of great headphones of all kinds and all budgets.

Here's the information from Head-Fi.org:

I hope to see you there!

Sorry guys, I haven't been very active on the forum due to a busy schedule but I was going to have a small GTG tomorrow at my house at 2PM in Fontana.

I just finished 3 SEOS Tempest and already have the old version Triad Gold LCR and the new version as well. We will probably do a blind comparison behind my AT screen of the New Triad Gold LCR's, Tempest, Emotiva Stealth 8, maybe the 1099 if NB67 brings them over and if we have enough time my Von Schweikert center channel to mix things up.

If some of you want to attend then PM me or better yet edogg or NB67 as I am going to be really busy tomorrow getting ready.

We are doing this mainly to say bon voyage to our bud NB67 (Chayne) we are gonna miss him until we all pack up and follow him to Texas

thanks Mike for having me, sorry i had to leave early, family duties. Its good to see everyone, it's been long, especially Sanjay, always lots of good info from you. Hope to see everyone again soon. On another note, I really enjoy those Triad gold, I can't stop thinking of them...The tempest was also excellent as well, that speaker can handle its own, especially full range. But the Triad took it to another level...Ivan, i am jealous of you. Speaking of BASS, man, Mike's house was rumbling like a 8.0 earthquake, i would never get a chance to let it out like that at home,(dont have the capabilities or would i want to) everything would have fallen and broke at my house. I would be sleeping in the dog house...Thanks again everyone.

Thanx to Mike for his gracious hospitality, especially his willingness to indulge some of us in ... "wait, could we try that again, but with one small change?" Grateful for your patience.

The blind testing found all of us preferring the Triad Golds over the others. Apparently the same thing happened at a previous GTG. Ivan made a good choice a few years ago when he went with those speakers for his L/C/Rs.

Good seeing old buddies and meeting new ones. Nick, glad you were able to make it. Chayne, good luck in Texas. Eric, thanks for the demo (finally, after all these years).
