While we're mostly getting lathered up for the GTG,

and Halloween- non-sociopath costumes acceptable for the GTG ?

in the mean time,
anybody out there knowledgeable wrt using a HDFury product specifically the AVRKey18Gbps from HDFury.com

, for splitting A/V output into HDR directly to the TV and the audio (and ATMOS) to a non-HDR AVR, like my X5200

this would be taking HDR/4K content from my Xbox1S (to be replaced by the Xbox1X) to my new 82" Sammy (MU8000) and as the picture shows, HDMI audio to the AVR
what could possibly go wrong . . .

Alright Fellas our GTG is fast approaching in 2 weeks. So the plan is to have breakfast at 8am to 10am at my local Ihop. Anyone who wants to join is welcome. GTG officially starts at 10am til the last person drops. We will do our traditional Potluck style. Please feel free to bring any snack, food, drink, dessert or anything you wish to share. Please post you what you want to bring so we don't have too much of the same thing.
My main cook dish will be 2 large fish. One will be cooked by my dad and the other will be cooked by member Manoj. His will be Indian style and my dads Mexican. We can do the main dishes between 3pm and 6pm when most members are gathered. I might have a special treat.
Looking forward to our GTG as always. Make sure no one forgets the Tequilla. LOL

Will, I have the Vertex on pre-order. I will be connecting the PS4 Pro and Xbox One S. Neither console will allow HDR (not even at 1080p) when connected through my Lyngdorf MP-50 which uses a HDMI 2.0-lite chipset (300MHz 10,2Gbps).

The Vertex is supposed to feature HDMI cable diagnostics and an HDMI output that should work with longer runs and more marginal cables. I believe that utilizing the Vertex will also mitigate Jitter in a similar fashion to the Oppo 205.

https://www.oppodigital.com/Knowledg...ProdID=UDP-205

Here is good summary info from HDFury on the Vertex, Integral, and Linker.

I'll try to summarize a few points below:

Integral is 18Gbps Splitter and 10.2 Gbps Matrix.
Linker is 18Gbps Scaler

Vertex is 18Gbps Splitter/Matrix/Scaler and can scale each channel individually as explained previously in the thread that disappeared, with Vertex ultimately you can input input 4K downscale to 1080p, apply treatment from external 1080p box to the signal and inject back into Vertex secondary channel that will upscale back to 4K at the end. this particular situation show how versatile it can be as it would require 2 Linker to do the same.
So basically it's like INTEGRAL + 2 Linker combined.

Vertex have higher signal integrity than Integral and will support more marginal cables for 600MHz.

Vertex have OLED and multiple info pages on it that will provide all information you ever wanted to have or know and those you didn't even knew they existed.
It provides more infos than Linker or Integral at first sight without need of GUI, APP or anything. it's all available at sight and from your fingertips at anytime.

Vertex also offers OSD fully customizable in colors, position, transparency, and that can be used for others purpose that signal info, removing annoying tv channel logo, or displaying custom text, etc...
Integral or Linker does not have any of this.

Vertex can cipher and decipher HDR metadata in real time, have VSIF injection/extraction/replacement, once again neither Integral or Linker have any of this. (those are for power users or content creators mainly)

Vertex have the most advanced Windows GUI we ever did, and except the fact that our GUI doesn't scale well on all display resolutions, we are known to have some of the most advanced GUI in our field.
It's oriented and made for all the guys who was in touch with us here, you can EXPORT, IMPORT and share your config with others users. once again, Integral and Linker do not have those.

I'll stop listing here, as we can add a lot of some others small things, like RS232 and possible external add ons, etc...

Bottom line: This is not marketing gimmick, we tried to build the ultimate AV toolbox and our guys worked extremely hard on it as they put all they had into it to celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are proud of work done till now on it and we believe it's a great and amazing platform and that's why we are offering a dream ticket to switch to it.

Now if you want to know, does it switch faster or sync faster on JVC PJ, or upscale quality or others stuff like that, please wait Beta testers feedback (Claw and Manni on AVSforum), as we let real non affiliated users provide such information as always.

Marc,
What did you decide to do about power. In my room, we talked about the 40A 240VAC ckt, but not about the other power. The South wall had two orig Duplex outlets (Single 20A 120AC ckt) I pulled an additional ckt for 120VAC service feeding a Quad box (Could be seen in the pict I sent you)

I saw it at the Dolby Cinema as well. The most visually stunning film I've seen in a while. However, I always come back from the Dolby Cinema unimpressed. Either the dual projector convergence is off or the tactile transducers become too annoying. I attempted to record max SPL but I think the meter died by the end of the film. I remember seeing transformers at another Dolby Cinema and it was ear stabbing loud and I don't have a problem listening at reference (depending on the movie).

I can bring Soda (HFCS free) and snacks. Also, anything that isn't being brought if there is a shortage (like rocket fuel...I doubt anyone is bringing that). I'll also bring sleeping masks and ear plugs in case a superhero cinematic universe movie plays.
