Was watching tv and the screen froze in a black and white like image. I unplugged the tv and turned it on again, lasted a couple of seconds and froze up again. Here is what it looked like. Any thoughts?

Well I decided to declare it dead, so now I have to figure out what to do with it. I am going to tear it apart and see if it is something I can fix or maybe get some good parts out of it.

You didn't get much response..

I started to, but then I thought to myself...

I don't have the following:
Not much DLP experience.
Hardly any Samsung experience
And this seems like a logic or main board issue (often times not really component level service-able)

So I didn't post.

After startup does the TV display any moving images or does the picture freeze immediately?

Have you power cycled the TV. (Turn off, unplug, hit the power button, plug in and power up?)

It will play for may a few seconds, then locks up. I have turned it off, unplugged it but did not hit the power button with it unplugged before plugging it in.

Thank you so much for the help! I hit the power button with it unplugged as you suggested. I then hooked up my satelite cables, plugged it in and powered it up. It has been running for awhile now with no issues as of yet.

Again, I thank you very much!

Nice call Rumble Devo...

I often fall victim to suggesting the simple stuff thinking for sure it has already been tried.

That was a simple fix, I have never thought of hitting the power button after I unplugged it from power.

I have gotten in the habbit of doing this with most devices anymore. PC's and lots of stuff you will actually see the surge bleed off the rest of the capacitor stored energy.
