That's an awesome deal. I tried calling them but there was no answer. I sent an email so I'll see what they say. What kind of delivery time did you have with them? Everything went good, I'm assuming?

I take delivery tomorrow. If I wasn't near an ABC warehouse, I would feel comfortable about ordering from US Appliance. The salesman today stated that they are affiliated and my friends out west should order through them. I realize it up to the individual, but, he made it seem like it was ok to order from them if they didn't live in the area.

Oh, ok. I don't live anywhere near an ABC so I should probably just stick with US then. Can't wait to hear what you think about the TV.

I purchased the 65736 and I am PO'd. The picture is so much brighter than last years models. I purchased a 73734 for the basement rec/game room ~ 3mos ago. The picture is good, and I was satisfied. I always thought the picture was somewhat dark, but I figured it was just the lighting. I recently had a 60" Sony Grand repaired. I soon sold it and replaced it with the new Mitsu 65 (purchased from an affiliate of ABC Wharehous), and the picture, on the bright setting, really "Pops". I kind of wish my 73 would turn into a lemon so that I could replace it with the new model. I need to replace the 65" Hitachi CRT Rear Projection in my bedroom (currently trying to sell). I will likely replace it with another Mitsu 65736. You will not be disappointed in this tv.

So the 65736 makes your other TVs look worse, or you don't like your 65736? Read the first sentence again...

It was an attempt at sarcasm. My 3 mos old 73734 suffers by comparison to my new 65736. The '08my picture is much brighter/has a "pop" that my '07MY 73" doesn't.

Well thanks to everyone on this forum I've ordered the 65736 today. I have it coming with the Onkyo 705 so I'm jazzed. This is replacing an older Hitachi that I've had for a long time. Way before HDMI came out, so I'm excited at the step up. Now it's time to figure out how to hook this gear up and what the best blu-ray player is.

That's what I figured. Every TV I have purchased has been an upgrade, and I've alwasy been happy. This is my first 1080p set, and I am very happy with it.

Has anyone seen the new 73"???? I wonder if, since it is the same power consumption, if they just put a higher gain screen on....

I also asked this in the samsung thread as well but Im in the market again for a bigger 1080P tv for what is going to soon be a dedicated theater room (currently office/junk/storage). My last 2 TV's have been LCD's, and size i really want a huge TV DLP seems to be the way since the pricing is just so much better. My 2 Main choice's are the Sammy 61A750 for the LED Back lighting and 120hz and the Mitsu 65735.

The Mitsu is about $100 cheaper and is 4" larger than the Sammy, but i feel like i would need to buy the warranty since its a DLP of the Bulb flavor. Since both tv's are fairly new its hard to find solid data between the two.

Anyone have any opinions on the two sets.

For what it is worth- Last night my wife and I were at the CC near my house. I'm considering getting the Sam 67A750 and they had it in the showroom. It looked nice. It was next to a Mits 65735 and were playing the same station. Both pics were real nice, but the Mits was slightly better. I'm still leaning towards the 750 because of the bulb issue, but now may wait to see what the 835 looks like.

ps. On the other side of the 750 was a 65 inch Aquos lcd and it was 5 grand more than the 750. When I asked my wife(who has little knowledge about audio & video) if she saw a 5 grand difference between the sets she laughed and thought I was joking until I pointed out the price stickers. She said that anyone who would pay the price of the 65 inch Aqous had to be nuts.

IMO, the mits has better blacks, it was noticeable after a quick calibration between the two sets. I am using mine mainly for a monitor. I, personally, feel more "comfortable" with bulbs than led's. Bulbs go out, have a spare and your fine. By the time I have gone through 2 bulbs. I want a new tv and get one....This is number 5.

Well thats not really a fair comparison , the 65734 is also brighter than the 73734. I returned my 73734 because it was too dark for me , i know what you mean.

Doesnt make sense to use the same bulb as a 57 or 65 in a 73 , common sense would seem to dictate a brighter bulb with that large of a screen ? I dont know ? I was very disappointed

Im sure Sammy does the same thing im guessing , why is what id like to know.

I think the pic of the Mits is much better , more natural and cleaner picture. However due to all the problems with last yrs Mitsu's im torn ?

After I wrote my post a short time ago, I went to the MITS website. I haven't been there in a while. This is the first time I've seen them now showing the 835 series. Both the 65835 and the 73835. Now if I can just find a store that has them? They are also showing in lcd the new 148 series.

Well, as soon as mine gets here, I will be reporting to the thread my opinions of the 65736 as a PC monitor. I have an intel 4300 (oc'd to 3.00ghz) and a MSI platinum p35 mobo, with an ati 2600 pro for the HTPC. I can not tell you how excited I am for this. My last tv was a cracked screen optoma RD65A (720 HD2+ DLP). Great tv but, mishap, $1200 mishap, lived with it for 2 years. I can't wait I am a "tweaker", would love a diamond but I am poor . I will "deal" with 65736!!! . TV "days" are better than xmas. I am such a dork with this stuff.

Yeah, I don't have a problem using the remote with the center speaker in front of the tv. My center speaker is just low enough to not obstruct any viewing parts of the tv.

Does any one know the sequence to get into the service menu?

you should consider this is their 5th generation (or is it 6th) bulb based DLP.
The quality and performance seems to be increasing rapidily with each generation.
To be honest, I cannot find much fault in their previous year model like you said. There was a noise problem early on, but everyone reported that as fixed.

I did not have a previous generation one, so I can't say I can compare it, but the 65735 I have is very quiet. I don't hear any fan noise from about 8 feet away, at least not over two DVRs.

Does anyone know why the 65736 seems to be at a cheaper price than the 65735? If you use dealnews you find that the 65736 can be found for cheaper...

^^ I noticed that also, but I also noticed that the sellers were completely different between the different models, so it could just be a matter of different sellers selling the sets cheaper. They seem quite similar to me and probably not much of a noticeable difference. A guy at BB said retailers will carry one set and not another so they won't have to price-match retailers who sell the slightly different model at a lower price.

They said 3 to 4 weeks for delivery, but they handed my set over to the shipping company 3 days ago and I'm hoping to get it in a week or so, depending when I can arrange a time to be home for the White Glove delivery service. (which was free)

Right now I have this stand in my living room with my old 20" TV looking rather inadequate sitting on top of it. I can't wait to get my 65736 on there, which will fit quite perfectly.

I have been on there recently (last week) and they didn't have the 835 series listed. They finally have it on there so hopefully some of the stores will have them soon. One of the stores was guessing July but maybe now it will be sooner.

My 65736 is scheduled for delivery between 11a.m and 3p.m monday. CEVA is not the most efficient shipper, but as long as you have patience it is fine dealing with them. Because of CEVA and Amazon's different hub and spoke setups, my TV went from Harrisburg, PA on 5-27 to Columbus, OH on 5-28 to Pittsburgh on 5-29 and will now be trucked to State College Monday. So besides the fact that my TV traveled nearly 800 miles farther than a straight shot from State College to Harrisburg, I'm decently pleased with the process so far.

I will post unboxing pics Monday, and setup shots, possibly a few shots with a bluray movie playing, in full daylight, with shades drawn, and after sunset.

Sometime next week, I'll also revisit CC and take some shots of the 65735 side by side with the 61a750. (my CC has them set up right next to each other) Might throw in a couple of shots of the new Panasonic plasmas so readers can objectively compare the PQ.

my WD-65736 was just delivered. Mitsubishi replaced my faulty WD-65732 with this set. So far I am impressed. The picture is great. The only thing I miss that the 732 had was the perfect tint option. I can only hope this set does not have the problems my other one had.

Just got back from Tweeter and they are saying that the 835 series will be in stock on June 17th and pricing should not be too bad (a decent amount less than MSRP)

Well, i spent yesterday setting everything up. OMG!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful tv, stunning actually. MY "quick" review, the tv has overscan, i figured it would, but, it definitely does. I am working on custom timings. No geometry issues, looks nice, very configurable, an absolute steal in my opinion on price vs. performance category. Finally, a black screen that is "truly" black. EXCELLENT BLACK LEVELS!!! Honestly, for the price i paid, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Quick question: does the 65736 have a QAM tuner?? I have decided to get basic cable instead of just OTA and it looks like my local cable provider delivers local HD programming in the clear, but I can't find anything about whether or not this set has a QAM tuner. The fact sheet from Mitsubishi doesn't mention anything about the tuner.

Both the 735 & 736 have a unscrambled QAM tuner. Check Mitsubishi's web site and look over the manual.

Glad to hear they are coming soon. I'm waiting to see what they look like before making a decision on what television to get. Check this out
