Good Luck!

Yes, I bought it from Crutchfield the first day it was on sale, January 11th. I got in on the price of $1169.

I did the Rebate last year(01/31/08) with Sony & the Free Blu-rays. I think it was the end of April they arrived. It took about 10-12 weeks.

Yeah, I generally assume rebates WILL NOT come back. haha. So if I get anything, I'm pretty happy. I've had ones that I completely forgot about and received a check 3 months later. And especially because this rebate was applicable to all Samsung TVs over $1000, I'm expecting a long wait!

I use 24fps playback from my Blu Ray and HD players and have not noticed any judder.

Edit: http://www.projectorcentral.com/judder_24p.htm This article has an interesting take on judder from both 24fps itself and the 3:2 pulldown process. I haven't checked out the scenes talked about in the article, but will try out Casablanca in HD to see if there's any difference with our sets feeding 24hz or 60hz.

I just received by 67a750 today. I am trying to get a professional calibration set up before the super bowl but that does not seem too promising. I ran a AVE disk and have some basic settings done but have two problems, a 2% overscan (which I can let the pro handle) and about a 20% red push that I just can't seem to shake (even with different temp settings and reworking AVE). I see from other posts how to get into the service menu, but I don't know what to do once I am in there. Any advice or private message would be very welcome. Thanks!!

I talked to a calibrator, and he told me to wait until the return period is up. If for some reason you have to return it; you will be out the calibration $$$.

OK will do, it HAS to be better then the Sony, the Sony is just awful, most of my DVD's look so bad they are nearly unwatchable.

IMHO, calibration is not that big a deal for the SuperBowl or other sports. Getting accurate color is really more of an issue for watching movies.

Using DVE or something similar should get you good enough for the SB.

Yup. Seems to be pretty standard for these TVs. Mine's the same way. That's why a calibration cost what it does cause those guys have the tools and knowledge to do it. The picture should still be pretty good for most programs.

Yes you will be amazed how a decently mastered SD looks pretty darn close to an HD one with a good upconverting player.

Totally agree, I just ordered an Oppo DV-980H, I'm hoping it makes viewing SD DVD's at least a little bit more enjoyable as I have a pretty extensive collection of DVD's.

I was told the TV would do the upconverting itself and that its upconversion was better than what you'd get from an upconverting DVD player??

I cut the entire thing out then gently tore off as much cardboard from the back as I could since it's 2 layer or whatever it's called. I folded it and easily fit it in a standard envelope. A little thick though. Make sure to make copies/document your paperwork in case the original is lost or rejected.

Judder free? No, I've seen judder in movie pans at 1080/24p on the 67". I also see the occasional rainbow so I guess I'm overly sensitive in picking that stuff up....and I'm not even looking for it.

X-Files: I want to believe, has a pretty good example of it near the end of the movie where the camera pans down from the sky over the barn to the ground.

The UPC is the white label that's on the lower right front corner of the box, correct?

Nope, the TV does a noticeably inferior job of upconversion compared to my Toshiba XA2.

Easy question but complicated set up. I'll try to inform and keep basic

For my sammy hl61a750:
I have a 5.1 surround upconverting DVD Home theatre in box system currently through one of the HDMI, and I want my other 5.1 components/feeds to use it as well. If I'm using my ps3/bluray(also HDMI) the 5.1 isnt real surround sound and is just stereo going through all 5 speakers. I've already set the Ps3 to 5.1 and obviously turned off the tv speakers. One of my Blurays(wall-e) tests the speakers for 5.1 and only the front two gave a test sound. The kicker is I know it must be possible because I had regular xbox(randomly) through the s-video on the sammy and the game featured 5.1 and also had a test(similar to the wall-e bluray test) and all 5 speakers tested good. So I am hoping someone can find a fix because I refuse to believe a game system thats 7 years old can use the 5.1 through s-video and and ps3/bluray through HDMI cannot?

FYI : In the ps3 setting The HDMI scans and finds available sound options and never picks up the 5.1 and so I have to manually check dolby digidal and DTS 5.1. and it automatically checks the 2.1 option(cannot unselect)

If the PS3 is hooked directly up to the TV via HDMI, it is picking up the settings of the TV for audio. You can configure the PS3 to output its sound through the TOSlink after it has autoconfigured your connection with the TV HDMI. This should resolve your 2.1 channel issue. If the HTIB system is switching all your devices into the TV, then you need to disable HDMI audio out in your HTIB system settings. Knowing the model of your HTIB would make it easier to troubleshoot!

Well, by some miracle of god my wife let me pull the trigger on the 61A750. Bought it from Conns for $1082.75. Paid Cash. I told the salesman that there's no reason to nullify a good deal like this by payin 20% interest on the CONNS card. BTW, there was three other people in the store ordering this tv and one guy loading one into his car. The salesman says he's never sold so many tv's in his life. I pick it up on Thursday. thanks everyone for all the helpful info on this set.

He stated DVD player not HD - DVD player!

Since we all do not know the workings of every DVD player released, how can anyone assume as connection (s-video, composite) type may be the issue. As for Oppo, many PS2 users still think the game console is the top player, now that gen 5 BD players are being released, I don't think any one should have any noticable differences when comparing. So far there are about 4 gen 5 players, Oppo, Samsung, Panasonic, and Pioneer... as the year progresses more will follow.

I guess you have not seen any BD players played on the Samsung DLP... My 1500 upconverts DVD a lot better than 90% HD content upconverted by the networks.

Also when I play back at 480i from the 1500 the tv upconverts the video almost as good as the player set at 1080.

The only issue I got from upconverting is sending S-VHS signal through S-video... Which I think the tv has bad upconversion from analog video inputs.

Component and HDMI input along with tuner upconversion are all excellent.

If anything do not use the S-video and composite analog inputs as that is the weak link to the tv.

Yes, my 2010 Panasonic 42C2 performs better than an S2 No floating blacks and keeps the lowest black levels.
