It almost looks like a flashlights image with the ring in the middle
The lack of said flashlight image in the second picture of CNN you posted, tells me it is a programming issue and NOT the TV. That same programing on your plasma will produce the same results.
These sets do not have dark corners like what is shown in the pictures. I don't care what anybody says, I have owned three Mitsubishi dlp sets in the last three years and none of mine did that.
No, these sets do not have dark corners on the top left/right corners as is evidenced in the shot of CNN. http://img714.imageshack.us/i/img0050ic.jpg/
However, it is indicative of the programming as shown in the first and reposted picture. I don't care what anyone says
, I have owned different HDTV types and this is a fact of 16:9 programming SOME OF THE TIME. Anybody that says different is either in denial or doesn't care enough to see it in the first place. This issue is not limited to Mitsubishi TV's alone but also Sony, Dell & Toshiba to name a few.
As I said before, and am saying again for the last time:
If you aren't getting the SAME picture on both, return the Mits and get a replacement.
As for getting a new LE without a service call, congrats as that likely will cure the problem since most any issue with PQ can be remidied with a new LE, and is the beauty of these sets.
