HL-T6156W

I have searched extensively and it does not appear that my model has an "Owners Thread". I apologize for any redundancy!

If I unplug the unit and power it on the picture comes on (optimal quality) for about 30 seconds and then it freezes. Sometimes it freezes at the same quality, sometime it freezes with distorted colors and flickering. The sound continues to work. After just powering the system down and restarting it, the picture is completely blank while the sound remains on. I can hear the channels change (DirectTV).

I just replaced the bulb and that did not remedy the problem. From my research, it appears that my next step may be the ballast or the color wheel (leaning towards the ballast). I'd appreciate any input!

Regards,
Matt

Not the ballast or colorwheel if the lamp is staying on while the Tv picture freezes or is blank. It needs a main board $250, or dmd board $200. Replacing either of these may require service menu adjustments after install.

Hammer - thanks for your response.

Is there any way to diagnose which board will need to be replaced?

Edit - FWIW - the lamp is on when the TV is on and blank, however the LED indicator on the control panel for "Lamp" is off.

I wish there was a good way to figure which one. The only real way is to try replacing them one at a time. Generally, we replace more digital boards than dmd boards on Samsung dlps.

I am trying to locate the Main Board for this TV. I've already replaced the DMD module which did not correct the symptoms, it must now be the mainboard.

Model # HL-T6156W
VERSION: PF01

The part # that is on the existing board in the TV is
BP41-00310A

When I search model # at Encompass Parts Distribution they list the following two part #'s

BP94-02309D
BP94-02309B

There are no pictures however and I'm not sure which of the two boards will replace BP41-00310A. I suspect one of them is for version PF01 the other for PF02???

If anybody could provide any assistance in identifying or locating the proper replacement part I'd be very grateful. I'd hate to order the wrong board then have to pay a restock fee unnecessarily.

Thoughts?

first time ever writing on a forum. I am having the exact same issue with my Samsung hl-t6156w. The screen freezes as if you had paused, the sound is heard and channels can be switched but screen is frozen. turn unit off and on and the sound again can be heard but TV does not show picture. I have replaced the lamp with no luck. Did you switch the main board and have success?
