I'm sending in my 55A3000 OB to Robert (ebay seller) for repair tomorrow. Took it out tonight, wasn't too bad, but messing with all of the wires is a bit on the tedious side, fitting it all back on the reassembly will take a bit more time, I'm sure. This TV has been sitting unused in a room for over 2 years with the yellow/green tinted screen and I was about ready to just get rid of it, but I saw that Robert put up a video on how to remove the block from the A3000 series (which helped tremendously as it is different from the other models) and after seeing Robert's excellent ebay ratings, I decided to try to get it repaired.
He says shop turnaround time is typically 2 weeks, and I'll post in here when I get it back.
-Update and Review-
Received the repaired optical block yesterday and reassembled the TV last night. Everything went smoothly and full color has returned to the set. Robert did a great job and I would recommend anyone thinking of getting their light engine fixed to not hesitate to use his service. He responded to all communication, no problems at all.
