My bulb finally blew on my JVC TV which lasted over 3 years, so I can't complain. I pulled it out to find that there is dust all over the place inside and a purple lens that the bulb shines into. My question is, it looks like there is dust on the lens, how should I clean this without destroying it? As the bulb started to dim I could see spots on my screen when it was all white or lighter colors. I think this may be partially why I was seeing those blurry grayish black spots on my screen.
Any tips for cleaning that and maybe some other stuff I could clean to fix the picture quality would be awesome! http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...+lens+cleaning
Found this after I posted... guess I was using the wrong search...
But anyway... after reading this I think the lens I'm talking about is a "prismatic anamorphic lens" should I just try and spray some compressed air on this thing or actually try and clean it with lens cleaner and a microfiber cloth? I'm scared to touch the thing but it really looks dirty...
