Ongoing problem for over a year, replaced lamp, ballast and power supply board. Didn't fix the problem, finally had a tech come look at the tv and said it was the dmd board.
(quick summary of the problem: no picture or sound, lamp light led flashes green, lamp turns on, wheel spins, just doesn't shoot the picture on the screen and no sound)
So, the tech gave me 2 options, 1) throw out the tv or 2) get the dmd board repaired by Modus PTS in Indiana.
1) they don't have a website, only a phone number...but tech said it would cost about $250 for them to repair it.
2) can I just buy the dmd board? he said i could , but it would have to be aligned by a tech
3) is it better to just buy the whole light engine assembly?
4) does anyone have the part #'s for the dmd board and/or the light engine assembly for the HL56A650C1FXZA?

I don't "need" this tv, it's now just a personal crusade to fix this at a reasonable cost.

Thanks,
Jeff

1. Obtain the Service Manual if you don't already have it.
2. What is the model number of the TV?

Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way.
The Internet is no place for streaming video.

I have the EXACT same problem with the EXACT same TV..... no picture or sound, lamp light led flashes green, lamp turns on, wheel spins, just doesn't shoot the picture on the screen and no sound

I contacted the company you posted about repairing my board. I would rather spend the 250 than to buy a new 2000 dollar tv. Unless someone has a new one I can buy. I cannot find this and a tech told me it is discontinued.

My question is which board is the DMD board??? I have replaced the ballast and lamps... I, right now, have my entire electronics pulled out of the tv. But I cannot identify the board in question. I do not have a service manual either.
Also, how hard is it to align a refurbished board??
