Hey all,

Im in the market for a HGTV/HGTV ready 16:9 RPTV. i have a couple friends that have mitsubishi's on has the 46807 and the other a 65807. how do the mitsu's compaire to the Pioneer elite? the pioneer is "the best" available..right?

the mitsu's have several models platinum, platinum plus and diamond series. what are the main diferences? the pioneer seems to be considerably more expensive, is it worth the price? why?

is there somthing in the same price range as the mitsu that is better? im not pro mitsu, its just that they are the only point of reference ive experienced so far.

and finaly, what are some of the features that i need to look for when shopping for my new tv?

thanx all.

I have a Pioneer Elite Pro-520. It's great. I had it ISF calibrated which made it even better. If you are going with RPTV, stick with a smaller screen size. It gives a brighter image, less area to spread the light over.

Hope I helped..

Go with a Pioneer SD533. You will love it. I did alot of research before finally buying. The Pioneer Elites are the best RPTV out there but there was not that much difference to me to justify the price difference. My last Pioneer which was an Elite is 8 years old and still going strong without a single problem. I gave it to a friend. Good luck.

someone once told me that Pioneer works with Sharp to make their Elite TV's, and that Sharp makes an identical version of the elite for much cheaper. is this true?
