The light tunnel on my TV got a bit misaligned when I was replacing the color wheel, and now there is a small shadow on the bottom of the screen. I have already had the light tunnel replaced under the extended warranty, so no help there.

I know from reading posts here that this model has adjustment screws. What I want to know is, does the service manual cover the process for adjusting the light tunnel, and is it something I can do myself? I had no problem with buying the service manual if it will help solve my problem, but I don't want to waste money on the manual if it won't help me.

Thanks.

Thanks, but that link goes to the owner's manual. I'm talking about the service manual, which is an altogether different animal. Think the TV equivalent of a Haynes or Chilton guide for a car verses the car owner's manual. Samsung charges for the service manual.

The service manual does come as a PDF, but all the sites I've found charge around $20 to download it. I'm OK with paying for it, I just want to know if it has the information I need before I buy it. Sometimes you buy a manual only to find that the specific problem you bought it for is missing or glossed over.

Plus the places that sell it don't give refunds on manuals. They probably don't want people buying the manual, fixing the problem and asking for their money back.

Have you tried calling a Samsung service center. I did that with a situation with my Infinity speakers and saved a lot of time and money.

Good luck.

No, someone hosted one on a site...I have it, but it was the 5086. PM your Email address, and I will send it to you.
