I Just purchased a new Laservue last week. There is a constant hum coming from the back of the set. I also hear the fan kick on as well. The hum and the fan are not very loud, but they are very noticable when listening to the TV at low volumes, or when there is silence in the show or movie you are watching. Is this normal? This is my first large screen tv and I'm a little dissapointed with this distraction at low listening levels.

I have a 42" LCD and there is no noise at all coming from it. I can turn the volume down on this set as low as it goes and you don't hear a thing.

The fan is there to cool the lamp,no getting away from that noise.I'm not sure about the hum though, are you putting the tv power through a battery backup?

It's plugged into a surge protector. No battery back up. I quess the fan makes sense. I'm not sure what the hum is coming from. It's about a loud as the fan noise. You can here the sound of the fan (which is constant) and the hum (which varies a little bit in pitch) as well.

Good catch... Mitsubish-TV has removed all information on the LaserVue L75-A96 from their website.

They are probably just updating the specs.
