Hey everyone,

So I read the thread on this site about cleaning the fan yourself if you come across the blinking lights problem

I followed the instructions and cleaned the fan.

When I turn on the TV, the fan starts to spin. But after a couple seconds, it shuts off. Then the LED lights blink four times.

I have read on other sites that there is more than one fan on the KDSR50XBR1, and if one of the fans isn't working, the the TV shuts itself off.

Is it possible to clean the other fans myself? Would they be the source of the problem? Or do I need to give up and call a repair guy?

Thanks a lot!

Update!

I just realized that now instead of blinking four times, it's blinking three times. The manual tells me this means the lamp may not be properly attached.

I took the lamp out, cleaned it, and put it back in. The manual says I should hear a "clicking sound" that confirms it's in. I hear the clicking sound. I think I attached it correctly.

So does three blinking lights ONLY mean that the lamp isn't properly attached? Could there be another problem? Am i an idiot and not sliding the lamp in correctly?

Thanks!

Three flahes is also a Lamp COVER Error, meaning that the cover that covers up the hole where the lamp goes is not secured. There's a part of the cover that hits a microswitch that has to be actuated for the tv to work.
