I have model HLS5687WX/XAA. I bought the set Dec. 2006. I called the store where we bought the TV and they gave us their repair store phone #. The repair store said this should be covered, but after contacting Samsung the repair was refused.
Apparently I am another victim of "normal wear and tear".
I called 1-800-samsung and was informed that their "engineers" determined that other sets are being repaired free of charge for defective parts, but my model # is not included in what is covered.. Apparently the set's model number has more to do with what is defective than the part itself.
