I unplugged it and waited 2 minutes and input 1 came back on as HDMI 1 again. 30 minutes later it switched itself to DVI 1 again and again I unplugged it. After 2 minutes I plugged it back in and the screen came on red and then the picture returned properly then after 15 seconds it returned to HDMI 1 properly but it still switches to DVI 1 every 20 to 30 minutes of operation.

Do a full system reset. There is a repair sticky at the top of the page that might help, have you been there?

Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way.
The Internet is no place for streaming video.

No I haven't and I still can't get it to stop switching from HDMI to DVI and then I lose the volume completely. I went to the HITACHI site and updated the software to the latest version and still no cure so I unplugged it when I went out for the day and when I plugged it back in it switched to DVI again after about 5 minutes so I'm watching it thru component. Why am I paying for HD tv??????mad.gif
