The TV is changing the INPUT 1 HDMI signal to DVI on its own. It also loses the sound! I have an HDMI cable on INPUT 1 and a gold set of the 5 component on INPUT 3. I have to switch to INPUT 3 in order to watch TV with a 480 picture but at least I have sound.
I unplug the TV for 2-5 minutes and then when I turn it back on, it will stay on as HDMI INPUT 1 for 2 to 15 minutes then it changes to a pink screen and no sound. After a minute or so the picture comes back but no sound. The TV is doing this on its own. I updated the software and still no change.

I still can't get it to stop switching from HDMI to DVI and then I lose the volume completely. I went to the HITACHI site and updated the software to the latest version and still no cure so I unplugged it when I went out for the day and when I plugged it back in it switched to DVI again after about 5 minutes so I'm watching it thru component.

This would be better to post in the users thread so all could see.
Since I'm not familiar with the set, all I can say is try contacting Hitachi and see if their farmed out CSR's could help. Also try any local authorized service shops and see if they have run into this before.
I would just get a HDMI to DVI cable and route the audio separately. You do use a audio
receiver don't you?

No I don't have an audio receiver. I have the comcast HDMI STB with an HDMI cable from the STB to the HDMI input on the TV.

Still have no suggestions that will help fix the problem. mad.gif
