Hello,

I have a Mitsubishi 65" DLP WD-65732 and its not powering up. One day it
turned on but was only sound at first then after a min the picture came on.
Then the next day it didnt come on at all.

When it turns on the fans all come on and it sounds like its going at first
but then quits then tries to fire up again but then fails then ultimately
doesnt power up after a few attempts to.

I tried replacing the lamp and that didnt work same symptoms. Ive had a few
bad lamps before and normal it signals by a red LED but this time it didnt
do that. I did the trouble code test and it signaled 6-6 "bad lamp or
lamp ballast"

I then replaced the lamp ballast and after that i powered it up and now
it starts making a fast clicking noise and every time it clicks i can see
the lamp spark like it wants to fire up but doesnt.

Im assuming this is a very simple problem that im overlooking based on the
symptoms. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-Pat

Bump this up. I checked the voltage at the ballast and i got 335v. Should it be 380v like the label on the ballast says?

Did you buy your new lamp from Mitsubishi? There are many sad tales similar to yours on the forumsĀ from people who bought knock off or "OEM compatible" lamps. Even a new Mitsubishi lamp could be a dud. Try using a known good lamp before going any further.

Yea i bought one of the knock-offs not the cheapest one but the mid-range ones. It seemed to get great reviews on amazon. I would get a new Mitsubishi one except I've had the lamp burn out about 3-4 times previously(under my parents ownership so no idea what brand they replaced with) but every time it did the lamp light would light red and wouldnt even try to fire up.

But this time it doesnt show the lamp light at all and it does the startup cycle so thats what pointed me to the ballast instead. Im getting 335-340v at the ballast power does that sound correct or should it be 380v
