D-Board removal on PT-53WX53 to r&r conv. IC's

Hello,
In preparing to replace the STK 392-110 IC's (convergence chips) I've been reading all I can and ran across a couple of people stating that the D board cannot be fully removed from the TV and must have the chips replaced while the board is still connected by 1 wire. I've only seen this statement a couple of times and I know better than to not at least check it out.
Anyone have any knowledge or ideas about this?
I was given this used PT-53WX?? RPTV with the model#, chassis# sticker missing, so I'm not 100%% sure what exact model it is except that it is a 53WX. I have rounded up a service manual and user manual that covers a range of models but no documentation on replacing the conv. IC's.
Any insight will be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks,
michael

Post some pictures of the inside of the Tv showing the board / IC's... maybe it will jog my memory

It's been a while but I'm mostly sure that the 53wx52 had the kinda shiny plastic protective sheet on the outside of the screen. The wx42 did not have the sheet and did not have the glare associated with the protective screen.

I believe they are otherwise identical.

@ DanieiHM,
Thanks, I've d/loaded the user manual from pana. Same manual for the 47", 53" and the 56". (WX42 and WX52) I also have the service manual for the 53WX53G (which covers the 56wx53g, 47wx53g, 47wx33g, 47wxc43g and 4743g, jeez) One thing I've noticed about this 53" is it doesn't have a "roller" menu. This menu goes horizontally from left to right at the top of the screen. The individual buttons seem to look the same as the facets/buttons on the roller, just not in a roller style. While I know the part # of the output amps not having the model or chassis # is a real pita.

thanks,
michael

I have read that the STK 392-150 are a better replacement for the STK 392-110 ic's since they have a higher heat tolerance. Does anyone know if this is valid? If so, are the related resistors the same value? It would be nice to find a chart or something that describes the naming convention of the numbers and letters after the "wx" designation. Google has not been my friend... then it could be my search terms.

Yes on this Tv you can do this and no other changes are needed.
