Hi everyone,

I'm getting my TV delivered today, and was wondering what other owners are using for their settings, seeing as how my AVIA is not yet here. If you could list your before and after values, that would be incredibly helpful! I did a search and nothing seemed to show up.

Thanks in advance.

Do a search by Hitachi and you will find a few threads by Mfusik and others that will give you a good start. The main thing is to turn down the contrast and brightness right away.

I plan to wait a month or so for my TV to break-in before using Avia.

I agree on break in...my 57S500 is about 2 weeks old now and it still seems to change a bit every day. I am constantly tweaking the settings (almost there now) I would give it a week or two before you start worrying too much about Avia.

I have found that High color setting looks best on my set. I turned down my settings to the following

contrast 26-28
brightness - 45
color - 26
sharpness - 28
tint - middle

also make sure to turn off all black enhancement, edge enhancement etc.

My picture looks pretty darn good with just the changes above. I am also having my set professionally calibrated by Bill Gambrel on August 18th so it should really look stellar then!!
