THE TIME HAS COME…. THE 2004 HLPxx63 AVS POWER BUY HAS LANDED

Due to the incredible buying power of AVS members, TVAuthority has negotiated incredibly favorable pricing for forum members. So without further delay, here are the details:

Just the TV:
HLP4663W -- $2699 delivered
HLP5063W -- $2899 delivered
HLP5663W -- $3299 delivered
HLP6163W -- $3699 delivered

TVA’s famous bundled packages. All bundles come with the DLP TV, a TechCraft DLP TV Stand, and a four-year extended warranty for five years total protection:
HLP4663WBNDL -- $3367 delivered
HLP5063WBNDL – $3564 delivered
HLP5663WBNDL – $3998 delivered
HLP6163WBNDL – $4369 delivered

*delivery is fully insured freight and is considered “threshold†shipping, which requires the freight company to deliver within the threshold of your door. We don’t believe in, nor respect companies that use curb-side delivery and require you to haul the TV into your home*

And it gets even better… TVAuthority is proud to place these PowerBuy DLPs under our brand-new 5-Star Program, which is setting the e-commerce world on fire. Highlights of this program include a 30-day risk free guarantee, no restocking fee, and lifetime technical support. To read more about our highly regarded 5-Star Program, we encourage you to click on the following links:
5-Star Program Details: http://www.tvauthority.com/5starprogram.asp
Press Release:

http://www.tvauthority.com/avs-forum...mbers-only.asp
2) Speak to one of our friendly sales representatives at (888) 286-5353 and mention the PowerBuy.
3) Come into our showroom in Santa Monica, CA and place your order here. (make sure to bring some coffee for us tired TVA folks).

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the first HLM PowerBuy, here are some more details for you:
• No obligation… There is no penalty for canceling your order. Simply call a TVAuthority Representative if you have questions or concerns.
• Your credit card will not be charged when you place your order. In fact, no deposit is necessary. When Samsung gives us the word that product is on its way to our warehouse, we will contact you to confirm your order.
• Periodic E-mail / Forum Updates… TVAuthority will send periodic updates to all PowerBuy customers through email and on the forums. Updates will include information on shipping dates, reviews, and more….

I can't stress enough the benefits of the 5-star program.... pricing might be similiar to Onecall, but will they take back your TV without a restocking fee if you don't like it?

Come on folks -- that's worth $400 by itself.

RE: 941 Bundle --

The only reason we didn't include the DVD-HD841 or DVD-HD941 in the bundle is Samsung has dragged their feet on when they will be shipping, and no one wants that headache again.

When availability is confirmed, we will offer AVS PB customers a phenomenal price on it.

FYI Part 2--

Samsung isn't sure on the time table for their own stands, nor do they expect to make too many of them -- hence the switch to the better made TechCraft piece.

Yes, unfortunately Arnold requires us to collect sales tax from CA residents.

We obviously want to keep our local business though, so CA residents might get a special gift with their purchase. :)

Is there a certain time frame in which one has to place an order? Is this good until the end of 2004?

I would be all over this! But I am in Canada. Are there any options for me? My parents live in Blaine, so I could get it there, but what about service, duty, etc?

Thanks

Thanks for all of your hard work on this.
We've got a sales office in Poulsbo, WA, and purchased another e-tailer, www.accessoryexperts.com which is based in WA. Unfortunately, that requires us to charge sales tax in WA too.

Our "special gift" will of course be extended to WA residents too!

Thanks either way Neil for putting this all together! I'm sure it was a lot of work on your part to pull this off.
Seaeye,

It really depends on which of our warehouses gets the units first. If your willing to wait for them to show up in our Santa Monica office, and pick it up from there, we might be able to do something for you.

4 grand is only the tip of the iceberg. Need an HD source, which I guess will end up being a Directv HD receiver but they don't have a DVR for HD yet I don't think. I also could use a decent receiver/DVD player and new speakers. All the stuff I have currently sucks!

Probably end up costing myself 8 grand by the time I'm done.

I would prefer a combo receiver/DVD player. Any suggestions? Preferably one with the DVI connection to optimize my future 56" DLP beauty.

We haven't determined when the PowerBuy will close, but it should continue on through July.

Now a whole new set of complaints will set in.

Earlier I posted that shipment was direct from Samsung for the first power buy. It looks like TVAuthority will be doing the shipping this time. That will probably be much more trouble free.

HD2+ , Captain Kirk models, and xHD3 models

Before this thread gets out of control, I'd like to comment on the above models.

We'd like to think we've learned alot from our experiences with the first HLM PowerBuy. One of the first things we learned was not to initiate a PowerBuy for a product that even the manufacturer can't say for sure when it's really shipping. This applies to all three of the above models.

My understanding is Samsung is still ironing out the details on all three of those models, especially the Captain Kirk units. They still don't even know how to effectively ship those models because of the unusual shape of it.

The second thing we learned from our experiences, was not to quote prices before Samsung actually sends out dealer pricing. It's easy to assume what pricing can be by taking "x"% off of MSRP, but we prefer to base our cost on most definitive information.

And finally, the last thing we learned from our experiences is not to initiate a PowerBuy until Samsung commits to building "x" amount of units. To give you an idea, the first HLM models rolled out 500 a month way back then. Now, the HLP models are rolling out at 20k+ a month from their production lines. Until we get more info from Samsung on production levels for the previously mentioned models, they and us would prefer not to commit to a PowerBuy this far in advance.

Any retailer who is taking pre-orders for those units is simply insane, because they are doing so blindly, and without a true idea when/if they will even ship. What I promise you is we have the ear of Samsung, and when the time is right, we'd like nothing more than to fulfilling a PowerBuy for those models.

I hope that makes sense.

Some answers for you folks:

1) We haven't decided for sure when the PowerBuy will end, but we know it will be open through the end of July.

2) The Samsung warranty does not cover the bulb, although if it dies very prematurely, they use swap it out no problem.

3) Canada orders are fine. Contact Hugh Mahoney at (888) 286-5353 ext 501 during normal business hours to discuss shipping costs. Samsung's warranty is only valid in the US though.

Thanks everyone!

I just put down my $2,899 for the 50"... Time for the HLN507W to go back to CC.. (Well, I have another three weeks before I have to give it back).. Hopefully, I'll have the HLP5063 in by then.. If not.. I think I can live a couple weeks w/o HDTV.. Too bad they aren't kicking the Tantus out first.

Sorry guys, I was a little slow on the posting of the official PB info.

Quick Reference of Forum Rules
1) Do Not post pricing you found on-line or at a local dealer UNLESS IN A DEALS THREAD.
2) Do Not ask for, or offer, a receipt so people can price match.
3) Do Not say to "Call John Smith at ..." (you know what I mean)
4) Do Not put down someone else's choice in...

Just buy the TV w/o the bundle and purchase the warranty - it's $289 for 4 years (really 5 years including the mfg. warranty).

Add me to the list of people taking the plunge. I just ordered the HLP 5063 package. I have been wanting a widescreen tv for more than 2 yrs. I have been reading and obsessing here for much of that time. I fell in love with the Sammy DLP almost a year ago and have come close to pulling the trigger so many times, but always have stopped short. Today I decided it was time. Thanks to AVS for setting up the powerbuy. TV authority made the sale very easy and I had a confirming e-mail within minutes.

Now I have to figure out how to rearrange the living room, call the cable company etc. I am pumped! Can't wait for the beauty to arrive!!! I can't believe how excited I am to have pulled the trigger on this. I really need to get a life! Is my new Sammy here yet?

(Note: Posted this in the Who's up for a Samsung Powerbuy thread. Resposting here as Mod asked us to post things such as this in this thread)
