Costco just started carrying the HL-S6767W
Mini-review:

Equipment:
Motorola DCT 6412 Dual Tuner DVR - HDMI
Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD player - Better Cables Component Video Cables
Pioneer 1014tx Surround Receiver
AR HC-6 Speakers
SVS PB12+/2
Belkin PF40 Power Conditioner
Dedicated 30 amp circuit

Picture Settings (Calibrated with AVIA)
Mode - Movie
Contrast - 52
Brightness - 50
Sharpness - 0
Color - 45
Temp - Warm 2
Tint - 50
DNIe - Off
DNR - Off

Content:

HD DVD's
Serenity
Apollo 13

Cable HD
INHD
Discovery HD
HBO HD
ESPN HD

The Bad:
-Some pretty nasty pincushion is present on 4:3 material, but since I will never watch 4:3 material I am not too concerned
-Occasional RBE if I concentrate on seeing it
-Shadow detail somewhat lacking

The Good:
-Bright. Holy crapola. Bright
-Amazing HD quality
-Deep blacks
-Nice black cabinet

Results:
I really am loving this set. I upgraded from a 50 Panasonic Plasma and am extremely happy with my first micro display. HD DVD's were unreal. The space scenes in Apollo 13 and Serenity were breath taking.
Cable HD was amazing as well. Not quite as clear as the HD DVD's, but that was to be expected. I watched a show on Cuba on Discovery HD and the color was incredibly vibrant. Equal to my Plasma in saturation. There was no noticeable color bleeding on any material. The color was always consistent and realistic. I watched a tennis match on INHD and once again the color and clarity were amazing. As the ball flew back and forth, there was no visible blurring. Lastly, I watched some of Deadwood from my DVR and again, the color was realistic. Flesh tones were right on and the dusty, muted color palette was perfectly reproduced.

From my time viewing the HL-S6187 I can definitely say that the HL-S6767W has the same internals. I am very happy with this purchase and I think I have finally found a set to build my media niche around.

I also saw one at Costco's in Chicago. I almost picked one up but decided on the 6188. The 6767 does accept 1080P (that I know for sure). You won't find much info outside of Samsung's website because it looks to be a model that's unique to Costco. I was also surprised at the lack of info on this set.

I agree that it's a Costco Samsung model.

If the "67" doesn't have HDMI inputs that work with 1080p source material, it suggests HLR technology.

Other's have reported that they think the "67" has the new five element color wheel. If they are right, that suggests HLS technology.

I don't recall if anyone have determined if the "67" has eight bit (HLR tech), or ten bit (HLS tech) processing. That could be one explanation for differences in PQ, but the only way to tell anything about PQ is to take one home, and try it out with good source material.

Only time will tell.

I'd be very careful about buying anything from the warehouse clubs right now.
Just as the big box stores are dumping their 1280*720 displays, the situation is even worse at the warehouse clubs. One can go to BB or CC and get a true 1080p input capable display for about what the warehouse charges for last years models.

How about a huge 70" with only 1280*720 resolution? Costco customers get dumped on this one. And Sams ain't no better.

Isn't this set's native res 1080p ? I thought last year's HL-R6767W was also a 1080p set if I'm not mistaken.

For you the point is even worse as you don't even know what you are getting. Call Samsung and speak with someone who knows their product lines.
Or even better just go across the street to BB or CC and ask them to price match. They have been pretty aggressive lately.

First off, *I'm* not seriously looking at the set or considering purchasing one, so lay off.

And by going to Samsung's site (hopefully the info is correct), yes, its a 1080p set. http://samsung.com/Products/TV/DLPTV/HLS6767WXXAA.asp

The one Costco is selling is 1080p. It has it written on the sides of the box, the sticker on the TV, product description on the price tag, etc. just like Samsung's product description for the model.

I just confirmed with a Samsung rep that this set does indeed have the same processor, color wheel, and additional components as the HLS 87/88 series. I am off to Costco right now.

Pggibbons,
The sticker on the lower left hand corner of the 6767 picture (your last photo); does it say game mode and accepts 1080p over hdmi? It sure looks like the same sticker that comes on the hls6187/88 and all other 87/88 models which would indicate similar internals and 1080p input capable.

I think it said it had a game mode. I'll stop by Costco on the way home and try to look and take a close up pic of the row of stickers on the lower left hand side of the set and the box, but I'm using a cell phone camera and it's only VGA

The most important part of that sticker is the part that would say 2 hdmi inputs 1080p support. This will tell you if the set accepts 1080p signals; if so I might like to pick one of these up as well.

I just picked one of these up at Costco.

Samsung tech support verified to me earlier today that the unit accepts 1080p input via HDMI.

The box and a sticker on the front of the unit verify that the unit accepts 1080p input.

The HL-S6767W seems to be the latest internals in last year's cabinet.

I can live with that.

Thanks for the pm's you guys. The price of the tv with the stand is a great deal. If in fact these do have the same processing, I think this is an awesome buy. I may need to pick another sammy up for my living room, I am that happy with my hls6187. Thanks again guys.

So it's just last years HL-R6767W cabinet design, but is all black, instead of black frame with gray along the bottom (ie: it's still the "floating" design) ? Also, is the black a glossy black like the HL-S smaller units ?

The Costco price is roughly the MSRP of the HL-S6187W + a stand, so if the internals are geuinely the same as the other HL-S models, it's like getting a 6" upgrade from the 61" for free (since it's been said the stand comes along with the TV)
