Wow, you are fast!

Yes, 'twas me. Your ftp wants a username and password. Tried "avs" and my AVS logon with no success.

I just happened to be messing with the server when you tried to get in.

The login name is avs and there is no password. Did you try just clicking on the link above?

I did click on the link originally, and again just after your last message. Tried "avs" lowercase as username, but still no luck. According to my browser (IE7) the site still wants a password.

(I suppose we could take this offline, but maybe this is useful to other folks trying to get in, so just bare with us for awhile...)

I suppose just hitting return when it asks for a password doesn't work? Can you try it again right now and I'll check the log?

Also, do you have an ftp client you can try rather than IE7? (BTW, IE7 works fine for me. I just tried it.)

I tried again, hitting return just as you said. I keep getting the login window over again. Right-clicking the link and trying "save target as" is also blocked.

offline, I can be reached at trekman@jeffnet.org (slow ISP mail)

PS: thanks for the help. Love my XBR2.

No problem. I don't mind hosting the files. And if anyone has anything else interesting, or a new version, put it in the upload directory to share.

out of curiousity and using firefox I just clicked 'ok' without using a password and it just took me right to the ftp. clicked the file I wanted and it came up with a login again and I just ignored it again [click ok] and wham-o [pun intended] it worked.

Jeff got it to work eventually. I think he might have got auto-blocked by using the wrong password too many times. I restarted the server and he got right in.

thats what i used when i had a bluray....over in the bluray section most people use BD when typing about bluray. i don't know what BD means i always assumed BD=Blue Disc. i know they use BD as an abbreviation over in the blu ray forums section.

Yeah, perfectly equal to KT's settings.

But perfect settings period? Of course not. Every TV is different. These settings are a great starting point, but they're not perfect. You can get a better picture by calibrating the TV yourself with the right tools, or have a professional calibration.

Can anyone share their Video Calibration settings for BR Movies (PS3) and PS3 Games? Its a 45 Page thread and it will be hard to go thru to find a post with the PS3 and 60 XBR2 Settings.

If anyone have saved their setting or bookmarked the posts which has the best settings, please share it with me.

I only use my 60' XBR2 with PS3 - No cable TV.

Thanks.

Also posted in the "Official Owner's" thread:

My 60XBR2 has recently developed color problems that I can't seem to fix. This is happening not long after installing my second lamp, and it seems that a lot of owners are experiencing Optical Block problems beginning around lamp replacement.

The basic problem is that quite a bit (but not all) program material on all inputs in use looks golden or yellow. What's curious is that it doesn't seem to be consistent - there seems to be movies and scenes that seem to look exactly as they should, but maybe that's just an illusion. I would think that a problem with the optical block would affect everything all the time, but perhaps color issues caused by the OB is not linear...?

The basic question that I have is this: how do I know, or how can I test to make sure the Optical Block is going bad? Is there definitive method to determine this?

Thanks for any help!

Look at the image from a black & white movie, or an input with just snow covering the full screen. If you are having OB problems, you will notice the yellow or green clearly. It may not appear to effect one station to another from time to time due to the image being broadcast. But, if you see it as I mentioned, you have an issue with the OB.

Good luck, I'm about to have my second OB replaced in 13 months, on a tv I purchased in Dec.'2006.

Thanks - I posted a follow-up in the "Official Owner's" thread. Had my ob changed last month and all is fine now. I'm holding my breath on how long before the second ob fails, and what can be done when it does.
