Hi was wondering if someone can answer this?I understand the fan runs after you shut the tv off for a few mins to cool the lamp but there is another fan that runs all the time. What is it cooling and what does it run all the time? Thanks
It is speculated that the constant running fan is cooling the circuitry for the cablecard slot. Yes, even if you don't have a cablecard installed
There's a low fan always on to cool the tuner and CableCard module since they're always powered on even when the TV is OFF. If you use a CableCard the module is always powered in order to remain authenticated with the network, and if you use TVGOS the tuner and processor is always powered in order to download listing data.
