I do remember back in the 1990s seeing a US$50k 50" CRT for sale but I'm not 100% sure it wasn't a listing error.

Misubishi had a 40" CRT in the early 90's, then Sony came out with a 40" 4x3 tube in the late 90's. I remember when I bought my 34xbr910 there were debates on avs about getting the 40" as it had a nearly same sized letterbox pic yet could display 4x3 material in a much larger picture.

Mitsubishi was the first to introduce a 40" model; this was in 1993. Sony then followed several years later with an aperture grille (Trinitron) model--don't quote me on it, but I believe it was the KV-40XBR700, a Hi-Scan (HD-ready) model weighing in at 304 pounds. I don't know of any bigger models that made it into production.
