Sony is claiming the next generation 40XBR800 will have DRC that is improved for all signal qualities. Does anyone know details on this?

Low pass filter??

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

I presume it means they will stop butchering MPEG feeds that are low in bandwidth by trying to interpret the "blocks" and pixelated sections as meaningful data. If, for example, they just tried to guess, "Hey, this feed is a crappy digital cable/DSS/Dish feed that has too little into, let's not even bother," the DRC would be better. Honestly.

You can turn it off or on!

When is the 40XBR800 due out? Is the cabinet expected to change at all in size?
