My CRT TV has more noticeable overscan when the set is first turned on. After it has warmed up for 15-30 minutes, it is back to a normal level. Because of this, I often leave my TV on even if I am not planning on using it for anywhere up to an hour. There is no signal on the input, so it is just the black screen.
I assume that the TV displaying no signal will not cause any wear on the tube. Is this correct? Is there some other harm I am doing to the set by leaving it on in this manner?
