Has anyone figured out a way to use the RCA audio inputs rather than the mini plug when using the RGB video input?

I have 2 inputs on my preamp available so I cannot simply plug every component into my preamp; not to mention the expense of the cables.
I lose a significant amount of gain in the audio using the mini plug, and when I switch to VCR it blasts. Not a severe problem but I am awaiting a DVD player to arrive and if I have the same problem it will be a major hassle. I do not want to buy more components or cables but will consider a mod even if it trashes the warranty.

Since the RGB input acts like input #2 you might try using the RCA audio inputs for input #2. Not sure if it would really work, I don't run my hi-def audio to the set.

No when I pull the mini plug out there is no sound. It was meant as a computer input unfortunately. I will see how keeping the Loewe as a display device and the audio coming from each component until I run out of inputs on my pre-amp.
