I'm trying to hook up a vcr via the RF connector and everything is fine except it won't go to channel 3 or 4 (or any other channel besides 2) I don't have the remote. How do I scan?

Menu? Sometimes menu will appear on those tv's when you press both Vol+ and Vol- together
Maybe Ch+ and CH- together.
There you go to auto channel scan while the vcr is open and it will add channel 3.
If it doesn't work, unplug it for a couple hours and channel 3 should come back in the choice of channels.

Just pick up a universal remote. Wallymart has them for under ten bucks. If your TV supports it go with either SVideo or Composite input for a cleaner pic.

That should work for most but not all video game systems which use an RF adapter. What're you using specifically?

Also yeah, you'll want to check to see if there's a menu button you can navigate with the volume and channel keys...
