Is it as good as say my 36XBR250? looking at specs seems to be a SD that can also display 1080. Or will 480 be a little grainy?

SD is always SD.

Yes, the TV can "accept" a 1080i signal, but you are at the mercy of the external device upconverting 480i to 1080i.

The TV will only display 480(i/p) or 1080i. And again, it depends on the input signal.
Just because it's HDTV capable, don't expect miracles with SD material(s). You can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear.

I'm not concerned with trying to improve SD my 250 gets great picture just wonder if the 450 would be as good it with SD. I know some HD's are a little fuzzy with SD but like I said this seems to be a SD that just happens to be HD capable.
