hi. I recently purchased this tv for $20 unable to pass up such a good deal smile.gif. There is a problem however. The picture shows things fading to the right almost like a smear, i dont know whats wrong with it as im not good with crt's. If someone could please enlighten me on what is causing this problem and how to fix it with a ballpark price in mind, i would really appreciate it! here are some pictures to explain what im talking about considering its hard to explain.

does nobody know what the problem is here!? anything would help please. its like a ghosting blur effect or something. please enlighten me smile.gif

Having the same problem with my xbr 970. Starting to think there is no fix...

there must be a fix. does anybody have any idea of what to even call this? or what is causing it?

Maybe convergence, if not beyond adjust-ability would have to be tuned in the service menu or high voltage transformer. If your computer monitor has 'convergence' in the user menu you can play with that and see if it looks kinda the same as the TV (remember the initial setting before playing with it though).

I posted this AVS search suggestion on another thread:

"I've saved a lot of time using the search function with strategic keywords. This link will get you the forum for all relevant CRT threads rather just picking one thread to search through:

Note the choice for Posts or Threads. In my case there were no threads on my subject so I had to use Posts (try Threads first though). Last resort on AVS is to search through all of AVS (you never know!) by starting at HOME."

Sorry that's all I have as I don't have one of these TVs nor any service menu info. A better search as shown above is your best hope.
