Recently picked up an unopened, never used Sony WEGA KV-20FV10, manufactured in 1999 to play my GameCube on through S-Video.

Hooked it up, it works and looks good on stock settings out of the box, only got a few minutes to play with it, tomorrow I'll spend some fiddling time.

Anything I should know about the set? Optimal settings? Where does this sit on the PQ foodchain, etc.

Hopefully I can make it last a decade or more for my CRT retro gaming needs, I was pretty excited to find an opened trinitron (even if it's a low end model) in my area, thought I would share :) Definitely something cool to say that I went out and bought a brand new factory sealed Sony Trinitron in 2014!

Here's a list page:

I'm guessing yours is inline with the 24" model. I acquired a used but great condition KV-20FS120 for free on CL; what's odd about that Wiki list is it states "without 16:9 enhancement" but mine does have that cool feature (and the Sony manual claims it increases resolution in this mode). Note many of the Wiki list columns are incomplete too.

Do a web search on your model number and maybe there's some archived reviews like CNET.

Yeah I've very infrequently found new in box CRTs on CL, usually of these smaller sizes though. If from individuals I'm guessing they won them and stored them away. There might be overstock and salvage type places that still have some; might be web-searchable but some are mom&pop outfits.
