I have read that Toshiba's CRT tubes are sold to a number of set makers including Sampo. AFAIK
, phillips tubes are also used in Loewes sold in Europe.
As the Picture tube presents very challenging Physical and Technical demands, woulds it be unreasonable to assume that this component mostly deternines picture quality.
Would it also follow if say a Toshiba and a cheaper Chinese brand, with similar features and a Toshiba tube, one could expect the same PQ or similar PQ from the cheaper set.
Loewe being a very expensive brand comes to mind, AFAIK
Loewe often uses a Phillips tube in its European set- if both a given Phillips Tellie offered the same features as a given Loewe model as the Loewe , would it not be better to save a few bucks and buy Phillips?
