Actually, I'd like to be able to power the set on and off even if I'm not using the vision box.

That... actually looks pretty good. Supports up to 1080i and still accepts 480i for PS2, GC, and the xbox dash...
That unit does look good, identical to the KDS models but cheaper. The Monivision still will not display the XBox dash through VGA, though, it's always 480i (unless there's a mod for that?).

There is. There's a hexedit to make the XBox display the dash *and* DVDs in 480p. I think you'll need a modchip though, although I highly recommend one anyhow for XBMP and MAME (at least).

Could be the wrong place, but I hope the Moni thread in the PowerBuy forum just got moved, not rm'ed...there was some really fine information for Monivision owners in that thread...

Anyone know where it went..?

I'm wondering the same thing, too. Did we reach the size limit of an AVS forum thread or what?

Can the old PowerBuy thread about this monitor be posted as an archived thread? Also, is there anyway to track the shipment so that we can be home when it arrives? Thanks.

My DVD's or check out My Photos in the AVS member gallery!

So after shipping back my broken unit (see old thread once it is back :) ) I picked up my new unit last night.

Oh yeah!!!

This is so much better! Still not 100% perfect but convergence is pretty good even in the corners and watching DVDs on my PC hooked up to this screen is quite an experience!

Component input with the new vision box still shows the vertical stripes but at least with the AUTO SHIFT set to OFF the picture doesn't jump around any more.

Once a guinea-pig (ehh... volunteer) has reported back on the new component -> VGA converter I may just buy that one if the PQ is good.

Cheers,
-CyRo

Hi Everyone!

I think the Monivision special offer ended July 27th or 28th. Maybe that is why the thread was pulled. I purchased the monitor and I love it! I learned a lot about the monitor and I hope the thread is found. If not, let's keep it going here!

I got mine today, but am having some issues with the bleeding reds at the top left and bottom right of the screen. How do you go in and fix the convergence of the set? Is that what I need to fix? :( Also, what are the reccomended settings again? They were in the other thread...
