Does anyone know the resolution of the Sony KV 36XBR200? I have checked my manual, Sony's web site, the first 5 pages of a google search, and this forum. Where would resolutions be listed? This is a 1998-vintage TV.

Thanks.

Bob

Do you mean, "What is the native resolution?"
As a crt direct view hdtv, wouldn't the native resolution be 1080i?

KV-36XBR200 is 480i native resolution and does not have 16:9 enhanced circuitry.

Thanks, that explains it. I thought it might be 480i only, but could not find it in any documentation.

From what I can find on the 32XBR100 - it was intro'd in about 1995. It says it has the Super Trinitron tube. It has 5 S-Video ports and manual talks about Hi-8, laserdiscs and Super VHS - so I doubt it is any more than 480i enhanced.

NOT all 480I is the same. One 480I tv may be 270x480, while another one may be 1000x480. There were some old school rear projections sets that has greater than 1000 lines of horizontal resolution which is roughly 1334x480.
The best way to tell is to use a horizontal resolution wedge. like in Digital Video Essentials, HD-Digital Video Essentials, etc to tell.

Trying to find the best resolution to run an HTPC to my TV (KV-36HS20). The only place I see it on here is under "Hi-Scan w/ HDMI or DVI". Problem is my tv has no HDMI or DVI. Searched Sonys site and it says check the manual for resolution and scan freq. The manual has no info on either one.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Just a FYI, being a former owner, the KV-32XBR450 does not have HDMI, only component input.
